I first met Nellie at an Open House she was holding around the corner from my house in Arlington. I spent some time discussing the real estate market with her and admiring her staging skills! I thought "when we sell our house I want Nellie"! She was friendly, extremely knowledgeable about house systems, structural concerns, financing and real estate market patterns - everything you would want in an agent. Fast forward about 8 years and we called Nellie to sell our Arlington home. She was always available to talk and she handled everything from landscaping to painting, cleaning, staging, and of course marketing. I felt that she gave us all her attention though I knew she had many other clients! We were also looking to buy on the North Shore and when we found a house she acted as our buyers agent - and I know her negotiating skills were instrumental in getting the house we wanted in a competitive market. Nellie is a concise business person - very clear in her knowledge of both banking and real estate transactions - we knew we were in good hands. Nellie also got a very good price for our Arlington house at the point when interest rates were rising and sales were wobbling a little. My husband and I cannot recommend Nellie Aikenhead any more highly - she is the best - smart, energetic, engaging and knowledgable!

Working with Nellie Aikenhead and Aikenhead Realty was an amazing experience. She is the best realtor I ever met. She is an independent broker which gives her the flexibility to work with you and address all your needs. In our case the home that had been in the family for 60 years was rundown and needed repairs just to get on the market. It was a painful process but Nellie directed us to all the resources from painters to gardeners to flooring repairs. Nellie knew what to do and how to get it done. She was deeply involved and fantastically understanding. And then she put on the market and we got more than we thought possible. She is a person with exceptional integrity. We would recommend her to anyone who wants to buy or sell a home.

Nellie was very knowledgeable about the local area and the market conditions, as well as what to watch out for when viewing houses. She was able to point out issues with the quality of repairs in homes that I never would have noticed on my own, and also give guidance on what sorts of repairs/remodeling would be practical and economical for a given home. Nellie was always easy to get ahold of, and she clearly explained each step and made the whole process more approachable as a first time buyer. Overall Nellie was a tremendous help the entire time I worked with her, and I'm confident I would have had a hard time finding such expertise and dedication in any other agent.

Nellie helped us tremendously for our purchase. She has a very deep understanding of the market and strategies other realtors use, and she always informed us so we could make the best decisions for ourselves. She continues to help us today as we rent that property and even though we no longer live in Massachusetts, she is always available, supportive, and goes the extra mile to help us. We highly recommend using her services.

We feel incredibly lucky to have had Nellie Aikenhead as our real estate agent to guide us through the process of finding and purchasing our Somerville home. She is incredibly knowledgeable, honest, and responsive as well as being an amazing negotiator. Our transaction was complicated because of a ROW on the property as well as serious structural issues. Nellie always seemed to know the right questions to ask and her depth of knowledge in areas related to purchasing an older house really helped us get through the process. She goes above and beyond to help her clients and we truly appreciated her insights and words of wisdom. On top of her professionalism, shes a really nice person and fun to be around.
