Many things can be said about why I review this company a 1 star (if I could give zero stars, I would!). To save time, Ill list out the highlights. 1. They manage a building whose owners didnt even have a business license to be renting the apartments they manage. Either they didnt know, or didnt care; neither is acceptable. 2. The property where I live has next to zero management representation. Its understandable to not have on-site management, but its quite another to never come and check on the property that is often left neglected. 3. There is very consistent basement flooding which began to cause mold and mildew to buildup down there (which is where the laundry facility is located). After repeated attempts to get someone from management to clean it, I had to turn to DCRA to get them to finally clean it. 4. Similar to the last one, a resident below me had a leak that affected his apartment very badly, to the point his ceiling caved in and his wood floor was buckled beyond repair. It took repeated requests just to get someone there to repair it. When it was repaired, they left the open hole in the ceiling, damaged floors, and exposed ceiling joists saturated with mildew and water for close to 2 weeks. No dehumidifier was out in there, no attempts to cover the exposed hole or abate the remaining water, and slim to no communication regarding the next step in the process. It took an emailed threat to go to DCRA, which attached pictures of the problem before they finally came and addressed it. Ive included pictures of the condition in which the apartment was left below. That poor man should not had to live like this. Pictures were taken with the tenants knowledge, presence, and permission. 5. Work requests get answered and addressed at a pace that suggests a complete lack of concern. If youre lucky, youll get it done in 2 weeks. Emergency? Dont hold your breath for a quick solution. Where most places would respond to emergencies in the same day or much sooner, promark responds a few days or so later. When the problem is finally solved, its done in the worst quality way. There was a time they had a guy who did a decent job, but hes been gone now for a few years. Now they send a 3rd party company to whom they give complete access to the building with zero management supervision. Let that sink in. Random contractors with zero affiliation to promark or verified background checks are sent alone to go into residents homes. I could keep going, but I dont have the time left in my life to list them all. Theres so many other things which are most certainly DCRA housing code violations, but trying to get promark to do their job is like trying to stop a dam by plugging the holes with your fingers. Bottom line: live literally anywhere else thats not managed by this company.
