JHBMC Pediatric Emergency Department

If I could give a zero I would!! My elderly mother came in at 10pm on November 15th, the staff is terribly rude all the way down to the security lady. She said to her you can't sit there rudely, she moved to another seat and she said the same thing. These workers should be kind, these are sick people coming in for help. I picked her up at 8am because she couldn't sit there any longer. They called her at 1:20p.m to see where she was, 15 HOURS later!!THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED! my advice is choose another e.r

Have been dealing with & trying to address chronic pain for a month with primary care doctor, PT, specialists, MRI, and x-rays. Pain has been getting worse & I have been looking my ability to walk. After an excruciating episode of pain I decided to to go JHH Bayview ER to hopefully get some more help. I spent 9 hours crying in pain as I experienced muscle spasm spells that left me in agony. I would pass out from the pain here and there. Nothing feels worse than laying on a bench, sobbing in pain, while medical professionals walk by you - uncaring and unaffected. There was one staff who took my vitals during an attack; I could barely talk through the pain (my dad was there to help advocate for me) and my vitals were through the roof. You cant fake that. An hour later I was given 2 Tylenol. At some point during another painful bout of spasms, my father sought out the shift supervisor. He is informed the average wait time in our ER is 26 hours. Knowing I had an appointment with my primary care doctor later in the day and we were MAYBE only 1/3 into the wait to maybe be seen. I choose to leave. Even if I had been seen, the lack of apathy and care as a human displayed at this ER is APPALLING. My primary doctor is livid as she had previously advised me to go to the ER if the pain becomes unbearable. JHH Bayview ER department should be ashamed at how they treat members of their community. Its disgusting.

mi cant believe this is really hospital v bad service staff very irresponsible no one care of patients if you have headache u need 8 hours to take care of you

My doctor advised me to go to the ER due to swelling in my left leg, pain in my calf, and a pain in my chest. I came to Johns Hopkins Bayview because it was the nearest hospital. I arrived at 8pm. The time is now 5:30am and I am sitting in the same seat. I was asked approximately 3/4 questions regarding the reason for my visit. My temperature and bloodpressure were taken and that was it. I've had several muscle spasms in my left leg and no one bothered to come out and check the status of my condition. Noone appeared to be empathetic about any of the patients waiting to be seen. I watched several patients who were ill walk out without treatment due to waiting greater than 16hours . This is by far the worst treatment and wait time I have ever experienced within Hopkins Entities. I will avoid this ER at all cost and advise family and friends of this horrible experience so they can do the same.
