We chose Hospice of Southern Maine in December 2023 for my father who was in need of hospice. We had interviewed several other agencies in the area and were immediately impressed by what the Gosnell House could provide in terms of both respite and end-of-life care, in addition to the recommendations of others. My heart overflows with gratitude as I write this review for Annette and Lynn, two incredible angels disguised as nurses at Hospice of Southern Maine. Having experienced the stark contrast offered by another hospice provider in New York for my previous grandmother, I approached Hospice of Southern Maine with apprehensive eyes. What I witnessed instead was a symphony of genuine care, thoughtful questions, and unwavering positive spirits, all beautifully orchestrated by Annette and Lynn. Their dedication doesn't stop at surface-level interactions. They ask insightful questions, truly listen to my grandmother's responses, and tailor their care to her unique needs and preferences. Even when I, as her loving granddaughter, occasionally found myself losing patience, Annette and Lynn remained pillars of grace and unwavering positivity. This hospice came to Peaks Island almost daily to care for my brother 5 years ago plus 2 nights at Gosnell house. I attended every nurse visit plus chaplain and social worker. Care was impeccable. Deep caring always. They will be my choice when my cancer gets to that stage.
