We worked with Ken Murphy for the logo, branding elements, and package design for our startup pasta company Amolitta Pasta. This would be our first consumer product and first professional level branding project we have undertaken so we approached the project with very high expectations. Ken showed genuine enthusiasm for what we had in mind from the beginning. He accommodated our request for a relatively short project time frame, exceeded our expectations at every stage of the project, and the final results were better than we could have imagined. Would highly recommend him.

Ken Murphy was instrumental in the development of the branding for the Dorothea & Leo Rabkin Foundation in Portland, ME. He was enthusiastic, creative, professional, and communicative. He provided us with a beautiful website, a logo, business cards, and in depth brainstorming, development, and production of materials for a traveling exhibition project, which all far exceeded our initial expectations! His artistic and thoughtful touches have made him our go-to guy in Portland, and he will always be our first call if we are ever in need of any work of this nature.

As we started R A S Wines, my partners and I worked with Ken on all of our graphic design and branding elements, and he and his team created the label for our first wine, Arkadia. We cannot say enough terrific things about Ken and Murphy Empire. His empathy for and deep listening to our story and hopes led to design that feels like it comes from inside us. His patience, his willingness to revise, tweak, shift and improve, were infinite. He was always there, on the phone, in person or in prompt email, to both ask and answer questions. His passion for handmade design, mirrored in the products we make, took us all outside the context of "branding" to a true sense of craft. And of course, the final results were gorgeous. Also, Ken is just a terrific human being, and we loved sharing common interests with him, as well as knowing that in working with Murphy Empire we were being supported not only professionally but emotionally and ethically as well.

I had the huge task of creating a brand identity for a new business- myself not being from a business or design background- and I cant imagine doing it without Ken. I felt like he understood the vision immediately, and his enthusiasm was so refreshing and encouraging. Beyond being a consummate professional, more importantly in my opinion, hes intuitive, inquisitive and genuinely cares about the person behind the project.
Not only did he fulfill every promise, but went above and beyond his contractual obligation to ensure I had everything I needed to proceed. I dont know of any other professional who would have done that, and offered additional support after the job was technically done. Murphy Empire exceeded my already high expectations and I would recommend the firm to anyone... except a competitor : )

My husband and I worked with Ken to create the branding for our medical cannabis company, Maine Craft Cannabis. Ken certainly had his work cut out for him on this project from the get-go, because we wanted to do something different than what most companies in the space were doing, and we were trying to strike a very delicate balance of being professional, but without being stuffy. We threw a LOT at Ken, but he navigated the project with passion and excitement and worked tirelessly until we were completely satisfied with the end result. Ken pays attention to every nuance and detail to an extent that I don't think I fully appreciated until a few months down the road. I knew our branding was good, but the feedback we've been getting in the industry is amazing! The details really matter, and Ken will thoughtfully make sure every i is dotted and every t is crossed to get your business started on the right foot.
