Island View Hotel Bar Harbor

Really nice hotel. Not sure why they only have a 3 star rating. Great location / service / facility / etc.

Checked into our room and not only did it smell terrible but there were dirty underwear on the ground and noticeable stains on the walls that havent been cleaned. Do not stay here!

I would not give a one star to any of the questions asked above. This is a place that I would never recommend to even my worst enemy. The little dude at the front desk needs to go he is the rudest person I have ever met in my life. And I've met some rude people. If he is your property manager you are going to lose out on a lot of customers. I was there trying to check in on Sunday August 27th at around 4:00 p.m. so little dude whoever you are I will be calling corporate. Oh and by the way I'm a grown woman in my forties but for all of you 18-year-olds who think you can rent a room here you can't even though the website says so even if you call the main office it'll tell you that you can but the little dude in the front won't let you. And they'll take your money and not refund it after turning you away. I witnessed two younger adults who booked online and was told even after calling that 18-year-olds can check in but the little dude behind the counter would not let them and he would not refund them their money. He also went as far as to kick them off the property these poor kids were sitting in their car trying to figure out what to do but the little dude had to be a jerk and kick them off and threaten to call the cops.

The double room was clean but on the small side. The hotel is right off of water and close to Acadia National Park.
