        DO NOT BOOK THE ACADIA SUNRISE MOTEL!!! Per the previous owner: "I am the previous owner. The new owner's have decided not to run the motel as a motel, but instead as low-income housing. If I had known this when I sold to them, I would not have done so. For the past 2 and a 1/2 months, they hired me to take reservations, and then they changed their minds. Apparently it's less expensive to run housing because they don't have to worry about the grounds or having cleaning staff. So they are not honoring any reservations and they are refunding your deposit." Similar to another review here, we had a booking in July that was canceled without a word. A shame because now we are closer to our trip date and are scrambling to find a new hotel

        I booked a trip for July and I got a message that my reservation was canceled and I will be refunded my deposit. I called to find out why and I was told the new owners are not honoring any of the reservations that were already made! That was the exact explanation I was given. My husband and I were really looking forward to going to Maine our first time and staying at a place that was pet friendly. Unfortunately that's being changed due to the new management of the sunrise motel!
