The Terrace Grille

Bar Harbor has gotten crazilly expensive over the past 20 years. Bearing that in mind, The Terrace Grill at the Bar Harbor Inn becomes not only one of the most relaxing places to eat, but on par with or better than most when it comes to price and quality. Their chowder was phenomenal as was the striped bass special, seafood was fresh and not insanely priced (except for that $40 lobster roll) and service was down-to-earth. Depending on what the wind is doing, it will get chilly, so bring a wind breaker (especially for the kids). I had to listen to a 60 year old complain to the waiter about how it was ridiculous that the outdoor patio was so cold during service... Ma'am, it's sunset... on the water... in Maine... In October. Anyway, eat here. It's better than most tourist traps in the city and probably even slightly cheaper.

Good lobster rolls

Someone told us this place had the best lobster roll! We happened to be staying here so we thought mine as well try it! It did not disappoint!! The lobster rolls were huge ($32) and comes with a side! The lobster bisque was delicious! Service was fast, attentive & friendly. Their lobster roll was better than Clam Shack in Kennebunkport.

Me and 3 of my coworkers dined here late in the afternoon. We were drawn to the high review ratings and the fact that it is located on the water. The patio was huge and gorgeous overlooking the bay. Our server was fantastic - attentive, kind, and honest about what she would recommend to eat. We all ordered and lobster roll (warm with butter) and they did not disappoint! It was a little chilly but the stunning views made it worth it! We would definitely go back.

Not sure why this isn't rated higher. Amazing views, beautiful patio, and our food was delish! I regretted not getting the seafood grits that my husband got. My haddock sandwich was okay, but the roasted potatoes were SO good.
