Attempted to transfer care. Was a patient of Dr larsons for 8 years and because I had questions about changing care right in the middle of a colon flare. I was told by an ma that I could transfer car that she would take me. Then I got told Im not Urgent enough and then I get another message through the portal being told sorry but we lied. You can call and complain to patient care but we already complained and make up lies about you so good luck. I wouldnt give any st Joseph hospital affiliation the time of day. Save your self sometime and humiliation.

I've been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis and ibs. I called to seek advice for any relief from a flare up starting and Ellen the nurse, explained you need to see your pcp or the er for flu. We are a speciality provider and only deal with gastro. Ive never been so appauled, disrespected, talked over and argued with about i am feeling for symptoms. Idk anyone with the flu who has liquid orange bms, painful abdominal pain that radiates in the whole upper abdominal area that radiates into my back and other symptoms.

Emil Miskovsky put me in the OR quickly and diagnosed my gastrointestinal issues, but more importantly, treated them effectively. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish with staff, doctor and surgery.

Our visit to gastro was such an easy one. From the front office until we checked out, we were met with smiles and kindness throughout. Special thanks to Dr Gallagher and his MA, Ellen. Ellen was so patient gathering all of the info needed for my elderly Moms visit with the Dr. Even when we were walking out she took great care to go slow so Mom could keep up. Thank you all!

I recently had a colonoscopy at this hospital. I know it seems like an oxymoron to use the word colonoscopy and wonderful experience in the same sentence but its true. Every person that I spoke with on the phone, and every person I interacted with, from the beginning to the end of my colonoscopy was extremely professional, thorough, concerned with my well-being and safety, and made sure to answer every single question I had. The preparation for colonoscopy was very detailed and easy to follow. And they text me every step of the way with my permission, of course. The intake nurse was very kind, and the intake was very detailed. Makes you feel seen if you get my drift. I met the anesthesiologist and the doctor and the nurses that would be in the room before I went in. These people are obviously extremely busy and to take the time out to have face-to-face contact was meaningful. Each one went over their role in the colonoscopy and made sure I didnt have any questions, and that I was quite comfortable. To my surprise, and delight they used a different drug besides versed, and fentanyl, both of these meds made me very nauseous after my last colonoscopy.. This drug did not make me nauseous at all. And I remembered every single event before, and after. The other drugs made me very loopy. Once you have a good experience, like this with a very unpleasant, but necessary test, it will make you feel a little better about the next one you have to have. And that pretty much sums up my experience. The people at Saint Josephs gastroenterology made a necessary test easy. Anita Smith
