Acadia Hearing Center

Do not go! When I purchased my hearing aids from Acadia Hearing Center I was very unhappy with my experience. I was being pressured into purchasing aids more expensive than my insurance covered. When I said I could not afford them, I was asked "WHY". I was not given a choice to pick out my hearing aids, he just ordered what HE wanted. When I picked them up, I was not given all accessories that came in the package, he kept them. Before I even tried them on, he cut the retention wire without asking me and cut them too short. The retention wire constantly cuts into my skin. I would never recommend Acadia Hearing Center and wish I never went there.

The audiologist here is impatient and a bit mean. He was so unkind to my mother. He doesn't answer her questions, in fact, he  openly finds questions annoying.  The receptionist was kind. I would try to find a different audiologist if you have that option.

The lady in the office was kind and caring. However, Dr David Cuthbertson of Acadia Hearing Center was impatient and unkind to my mother, to the point of being rude. He would not tolerate her questions prior to buying hearing aids. He took very little interest in instructing her how to use them, and he was not open to questions from her afterward when she was unable to use them. He did take the time however to upsell her to a much more expensive model than the one covered by her insurance. I would not send a family member to this doctor if you can at all avoid it. There are better audiologists in Bangor.
