La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Slidell - North Shore Area

This hotel is in a great location and clearly in a high-traffic area...which is why I cannot understand how a hotel so highly rated is in such a disheveled state. Firstly, the lobby is decorated like a living room. The doors at either end of the first floor do not lock so anyone can enter. It was also not the most attractive reception area. There were printed signs everywhere in binder sleeves which is really tacky. My room was interesting as well. Every lamp had a different colored lightbulb. I tried to unplug the alarm clock, since light usually bothers me when sleeping, and it sparked! The cord detached from the plug itself. Very unsafe! The bathroom was not clean at all. I could see residue in the tub probably from a previous guest. There were booger stains on the walls and some other stains. The shower curtain was ripped in multiple spots. Were the sheets even clean? I'm not betting on it. Considering the price of the rooms, I expected much much better. I've stayed at other LaQuinta locations and they were all much nicer than this place. That being said, the bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. They were very accommodating to my dog which is a plus. Would I stay at this location again? No.

A very nice place to lay your head. Clean, comfortable, complete with breakfast! Rooms: Clean and really nice! Great brd and pillows! Safety: I felt safe. My truck and trailer were safe(I paid an SPD) all night. Awesome location! Walkability: You can walk to shop, eat, drink, and have some good ile cajun food! Noteworthy details: Very clean property. Safe. Great area! Thanks for hosting us!

It was conveniently located close to HWY 10. Our room had a slow-draining toilet, but their night-shift personnel were able to assign a different room on the same floor. The new room, however, did not have a blanket and it was colder at night. We heard footsteps from either upstairs or the room next door often enough. This could be because of that particular guest, not determined. The breakfast was very typical, but there was hot food. The people at the front desk the next morning were nice and helpful.
