Caleb was the best possible hotel manager you could come across, he did everything right! The only issue I had was that the water in shower in executive suite took a very very long time to get hot ,besides that everything was great

Little rough around the edges but you are going to New Orleans after all. The location is great, right between Frenchmen St and all the excitement of the French District. Little improvements would go a long way, like a new toilet seat. I have never seen a worn toilet seat before this stay. The beds are comfortable and the location is good. Walkability: French District is all a walkable distance but bring comfortable shoes, we had a couple days that we did 30k+ steps.

Had a great stay at Melrose Mansion. Its the quintessential New Orleans colonial style house. Very close to the French Quarter (5-10 min walk) but just far enough to be away from the noise and people. Free coffee and soft drinks a bonus. Fully recommended.

My wife and I recently spent a week at Melrose Mansion, and it's safe to say it exceeded our expectations. Nestled on Esplanade Avenue, our suite was a perfect blend of luxury and convenience, complete with a full kitchen, washer, and dryer, and views that made every morning a delight. Despite ongoing renovations, we barely noticed any disruption, a testament to the careful planning of the mansion's staff. However, there was a curious case of a nightly alarm at 9 pm in the first-floor hallway. It became our daily reminder that no place is without its quirks. A friendly suggestion to management: finding a way to silence this unexpected feature would be much appreciated. One of the mansion's best features is its location. It's within great walking distance to all the French Quarter activities, making it a prime spot for anyone looking to explore the heart of New Orleans. And if you're a fan of jazz, Buffa's next door is not to be missed. Their Jazz Brunch on Sunday was an absolute highlight, offering amazing food alongside fantastic live music. For those looking to venture a bit further, renting an e-bike and riding up Esplanade to visit City Park is a must-do. It's a beautiful way to see more of what New Orleans has to offer, all while enjoying the city's unique ambiance. Overall, Melrose Mansion is a place we'd definitely recommend and return to. Its combination of charm, location, and amenities makes it a standout choice for anyone visiting New Orleans. Nearby activities: City Park up Esplanade. Bourbon St is 2 blocks away. MultipleBlue Bike Pods are near by, download the app. Walkability: We walked everywhere, put in 15000 to 20000 steps daily. Melrose mansion is an amazing location. Food & drinks: Check out Buffas at the corner, great food and Jazz brunch Sunday. Flagpole up Esplanade, which is about a 20 min walk has amazing coffee and fresh juices. Roberts grocery store is about 10 walk.

Dear RobertWe are delighted to receive your review. Thank you for taking the time to provide such eloquent and thorough feedback. We thank you for your patience in dealing with the unexpected fire alarm fault--this is a result of some necessary construction going on in our annex building and is, thankfully, temporary. Our location is indeed one of our best features as the property is in a quiet neighborhood very close to not only the whole of the French Quarter but also Frenchmen Street, which many say is the more authentic representation of New Orleans' historic jazz and blues scene. We hope you'll come and stay with us again some time, and we're grateful for your testimonial review. All the best
