        Without a doubt the very best plate of Red Beans and Rice I have ever had since moving to New Orleans as a young adult in 1980. Believe me, I've had PLENTY! Velvety smooth consistency with an inviting aroma and deep, rich flavor. The generous portions of pork will certainly fill you up. Most definitely will have this again!

        This review is in response to the owner's delusional and insulting comments about our one star review. 1. We had not been anywhere drinking before going to this restaurant. 2. We came straight to the restaurant and were told what to eat. No choice was offered. The dishes we were served were awful and we sent them back. 3. We did not bring our own wine. We were served some cheap red wine by the owner. 4. Our complaints about the food being inedible fell on deaf ears. 5. We were all charged full price despite the fact that we turned down dishes before they came to our table after we had a horrible salad and onion soup. How can you mess up a simple green salad??? And onion soup is really not that difficult to make. If I owned this place, I would listen to my customers' comments and try to better myself instead of blaming my clients for my own deficiencies.

      Happy to have another opportunity to respond...!! This party had been drinking at a reception immediately prior to arriving at the cafe, or so they said. They also said they were not hungry as they had eaten heavy hors d'oeuvres at the reception. They were late for the reservation, brought their own wine, and wanted to pick and choose from the prix fixe menu. Two of them were loud and surly, asked for their food to be boxed up, and then left the food, and paid what they wanted to pay. This is the first and only complaint we've had about our food in five years, but obviously it is hurtful and detracts from our good reputation. The verbal critique was not at all constructive, but rather was full of vitriol. We can only attribute it to the effects of alcohol.
