Ochsner Medical Center Emergency care

Extremely ghetto and rundown. Unsanitary conditions. The entire emergency area is filthy. The staff seems incompetent. The communication in this place is horrible. The wait times are really long and it feels like you're in the worst neighborhood in the "hood" when you walk into this place. I highly DO NOT recommend coming here.

I was here about 2 nights ago and I am super disappointed with the service. Getting check in was very quick and that was about the only think that was good. I came here around 11pm with a friend who had a leg injury. By 12 we were sitting in the room waiting on a doctor. My friend had a bandage that was stuck to her wound, she told the nurse this yet she still decides to pull on it putting her in even more pain. They ran her in for a cat scan and X-ray's. They came back normal. Had her leg out and unwrapped for hours. We only seen the doctor twice and he had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. Then at 2:40 the nurse came back and wrapped her injury back up with the same stuff the go karting track have us. What's the point in combining if they weren't gonna clean or wrap the wound properly??

My dad was sent there to be admitted by his doctor for heart issues last night. He sat in the er room for 6 hours! When he got upset and wanted to leave we were finally sent upstairs! There were people in the halls in wheelchairs and stretches! We never saw a doctor to tell us what was going to happen! I'm still not sure! I'll be there today and i will be complaining! Every staff member was nice but didn't have the answers as to what when and how long he would be there! I'm praying ICU can give us some answers today! He spent 5 days there...everyone was very novice and helpful.

Praise God Amen. My Emergency room visit was very wonderful and informative, Registers , Triage, Nurses, Doctor, Catscan, opetater, excellent, kind, polite, calm, helpful, caring, attentive, comforting, sweet, and so Awesome.
