If it were an option to give no stars, I would have. Of all places to be at a CANCER center, wouldn't allow a patient to have a family member with them, not even one in Dr Antrobus' office. Patients are nervous and scared enough and of all fricken places to be and they have zero compassion. They could care less. It's all about them and not the patient. I hope not one staff member here has to visit for themselves as a patient. Zero compassion!! Worst place, doctor ever.

Treatment #4 I have to say everyone here is so kind and helpful . Dr. King and his staff are Amazing . From security to the front desk the young women in the radiology dept are so sweet. And of course Matt has been so helpful and supportive with my husband they are wonderful people here. I appreciate them so much.

This review is ongoing and covers several months of trying to get information from Mary Bird Perkins Billing about what services Ive been charged for, the costs, and payments Ive made applied correctly. September 2023 My FSA card that deducts weekly from my paycheck to cover out of pocket medical expenses has now been cutoff because Mary Bird Perkins billing is unable to explain what I paid for. I finally paid them the balance they said I owed from February just because Im tired of spending so much time trying to get them to provide itemizations of treatment. Now I have to pay my FSA card back part of my original payment that Mary Bird Perkins Billing is unable to apply. August 2023 I called Tanya. She said they were moving billing back in-house and would be able to provide me with a cancer portfolio with itemizations. That was a month ago. This past Friday I received a bill for Feb. services that, after MONTHS of phone calls, I believed had finally been resolved and I was now working to get the May service billing corrected so my payment was applied to my bill correctly or acknowledged at the very least. The issue is what my insurance has paid, what Ive paid, and what they say I owe does not add up to what is billed to the insurance and they are unable to provide an itemization of charges for what I owe or find payments Ive made. Its very depressing. They also are overlooking booking my scans. Im spending so much time going through Insurance EOBs and comparing to my payments and their statement billings, I didnt realize my scan was not booked. The company needs a serious financial audit, and as far as the snafu of my oncologist appointment without the pre-requisite scan (that I cant book, they must call me), Im scared for my health and am going to discuss transferring my care to a different hospital system on my next visit with the oncologist. If I can ever get in for a scan. If the scan is not clean, I will definitely be transferring elsewhere. May 2023 Pet scan and radiation services are good. Lab, port care, doctor appointment services are extremely hard to get used to after the efficiency of having been with OLOL. I tend to skip port care because of the wait time if done with labs and doctor appointment. Good thing, is you can drop in to have it done at other times. Unfortunately I must work to have insurance to pay for this and dont have time to wait an hour in between services. The billing department is nothing short of atrocious with misapplied payments, calls not returned, and a complete lack of accountability by anyone in it. Trying to figure out what you are paying for is extremely frustrating. I guess it will be worth it if I have some more time but the stress of dealing with this company while recovering from cancer treatment is hard. So hard. I didnt cry when I got my diagnosis or treatment. Ive cried dealing with Mary Bird Perkins billing department in the aftermath.

Today I became a MEDICAL MIRACLE! During a yearly checkup with my doctor, Michele Salassi I had an MRI lung scan. The technician saw a small nodule on my right lung. I was referred to a Dr. Moosa whose P.A.STEPHANIE THOMAS told me I would have a bronchoscope procedure to check my lung for cancer. It seems the nodule in question also showed enlarged lymph glands. I went into the Mary Bird Perkins cancer screening center. The nursing staff, patient care, anesthesia specialist and doctors made me feel like family, NOT A PATIENT. The names of their caring people who made me feel so special are listed below. Ebony, Carol, Tyler, Rebecca, Julie, Kim, Odessa and Emily Each one of these special people were open, friendly, caring and most of all God fearing Christians who gave me their best professional and personal attention. Any one who has to undergo tests to determine whether or not a patient needs treatment for cancer, should go to this amazing Cancer Center in Baton Rouge, LA. I want all of the staff who had any part in my care to know just how much I appreciate them. Some names I may have forgotten, but God knows who they are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your loving and caring staff. My procedure was canceled when Dr. Moosa saw that the area in question had not only shrank in size, my glands had shrank as well. Cancer does not shrink, it grows. Only God could create such a miracle and today I felt Gods love and assurance through these wonderful people who have dedicated their lives to fighting this horrible disease. THE DIAGNOSIS IS CLEAR. I DO NOT HAVE CANCER. As great Medical care should be, I will see Dr. Moosa again for a follow up in 3 months. In short, with God, the right medical staff and such devoted people ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. Thank you again to the doctors and staff of the MARY BIRD PERKINS CANCER CENTER! MAY GOD BLESS YOUR LIVES AS HE HAS MINE. SINCERELY, TONYA RICHARD
