1. You dont talk to a human when you call the office. Its a very small town. You should not have to punch numbers to talk to a live person. Weve lived in several towns and have always had a person answer the phone but not here in Shelbyville.
2. You have a claim. Watch out. You go thru an automated service to file ( which is a complete disaster). Gotta go to hell and back to file with a person
3. We went through 3 adjusters - yes I SAID 3 ADJUSTERS for a claim on our flooded basement.
And that was about a 5 month period. 3 adjusters in 5 months. Terrible. And no one had a clue what the last one had done. They couldnt look you up in the system. So receipts were sent 3x for the 3 different adjusters. What a joke
4. They were extremely slow to reimburse us. Like 5 months slow. And we paid ALOT out of pocket. Like $35,000 ALOT. 5 months to get reimbursed. NEVER AGAIN.
I changed insurance companies as soon as our claim was done. Yes our homeowners policy went up with the new company ( but no more than Allstate was charging us ) and we saved about $700 on our cars so it was a win win for us
We have lived in a lot of different states with my husbands job and always had Allstate. NEVER AGAIN.
