DO NOT TRUST POSITIVE REVIEWS HERE staff are instructed to offer free benefits such as deserts if people leave positive reviews, these reviews are literally being bought Hotel itself was beyond disappointing, unclear how actually small the rooms were, the single most uncomfortable toilet Ive ever sat on and multiple parts of the shower were broken. Oh also DO NOT pay for the river view, there is only 1 room per floor with an actual view of the river yet they sell 3 river views at least per floor despite two of those just looking straight into another building from all angles except for a single square foot in the far corner where you may get a partial view of the water.

This was my first time staying at a Moxy hotel. These are a funkier, local-centric type of hotel offering, which was a lot of fun compared to the stuffier, sterile places most hotels seem to fall into. The ambiance and service were top notch. Your bartender is your check-in staff, which was kinda fun and cool. The downstairs lobby area is designed as a common room with fireplace, board games, a taco restaurant, and of course, a bar. It was neat to have this mutual hangout, and there were quite a bit of folks milling about down there having a drink, noshing some tacos, and just chatting. The big common room is somewhat essential though, as the rooms are pretty small. When checking in, we were told Moxy is more of a "European-Style" hotel, with few room appointments and geared toward spending more time in the common area. I would have to agree with that, as our room was small (think New York or Tokyo apartment) and didn't have a lot of amenities that you'd normally see in a hotel (in-room coffee maker, refrigerator, etc.) Most of the extra appliances were available upon request, and coffee was served in the common areas. Location is spectacular though. We had a room overlooking the YUM! Center, just a minute's walk from Whiskey Row. We had plenty of food, drink, and entertainment options right next to the hotel, so you really can't beat the location if you plan on checking out the local distilleries, museums, and restaurants. In general, this stay made me a believer in Moxy hotels. Our bartender told us each Moxy is designed around the town in which it is located, so each experience is unique. While I hope some my offer a larger room (I'm a big dude, I need some extra space to move around in), I really like the vibes and want to see what other city's Moxy hotels have to offer!
