Do better Masonic Homes of Kentucky. STOP hiring agency nurses who go into empty rooms and sleep while on shift.

My father, 89 years old is a Mason, was Master of his Masonic Lodge twice. He is a true example of what a man should be; honest, forthcoming, helpful to his fellow man. He lived here until 2 days ago for the past 11 years, moved in after my mother passed away (sold his huge SUV, camper and home to move here.) Rising prices have caused him to move out from the independent living apartments. The only thing replaced was the entrance floor. The carpet are the same as is the paint as was when he moved in. No appliances were replaced except the dishwasher. No painting was ever done. My father replaced the toilet himself, that he bought himself. My daughter and I cleaned this apartment today, here are the pictures. He made many friends while here, everyone knows his smiling face and his little dog, Baby, as he walked her around the grounds several times a day. Goodbye Masonic Home.

"Its a nice bandaid" It was a nice place to work i thought at first. Then 2 months in, i started to realize how pretentious and hostile this working environment is and i did not enjoy my time working for this facility. employee's are NOT treated equally and Fairly. Which contributes to the high turnover rate. The facility looks nice, but pay is VERY low. There is no housekeeping staff to clean the dorms where the residents live. So i would HIGHLY Recommend NEVER sitting on the furniture in the lobby's unless you want to take "critters" home with you.. Compared to other nursing facilities the work load is light. However, the demands of the residents are HIGH, along with being understaffed, the miscommunication. It can be very hectic. Not the best place if you're a new cna, cmt, Working here was equivalent to being back in high school. The DON is extremely rude and careless towards employees. Majority of the staff who have been there the longest dont like working there, so they're NOT friendly and cliqued up with the DON. So if you're friends with members of HR or someone who is, you'll get away with ANYTHING. If not, be prepared for the Worst. you'll survive by just showing up, doing your job and not speaking to anyone. but who really wants to work like that?? I've witness employees being disrespected by family members while management made excuses for the behavior. I've witnessed residents lie on employees to get them wonderfully terminated and the facility backed them up Without a proper investigation. (Its always the residents/family word against yours) they will get rid of you. I started this job when my mother died, so dealing with grief and being in that work environment set me deeper into depression, which made coming to work almost impossible. i already felt like an outcast.. But im Saying that to say this.....we're all going through things right now, life is hard on everyone. So if you're looking for a new place of employment i highly suggest that, YOU DO NOT APPLY HERE! Regardless of you're ethnicity or race, everyone deserves an emotionally safe work environment. This place isnt it. Take your kindness, patience and good work ethic somewhere else. I hope this helps many. *UPDATE: with in the last 6months. two employees that I know of have committed suicide. (not at the facility). a cna and a nurse supervisor.. work stress, along with problems going on at home is what led to these Unfortunate Events.. Masonic homes has not shown any care to the family members or any other employees. So far people are making fun of them as if mental health is not a crisis for EVERYONE. This is not an emotionally safe environment for anyone. i repeat: THIS IS NOT AN EMOTIONALLY SAFE ENVIRONMENT! My heart goes out to the family members and anyone else that may be dealing with mental health issues at this time of life. Masonic homes DOES NOT care about its employees. They will only be nice enough to get you hired.

I have seen your Palatial, Majestic, Magnificent grounds of your campus in Louisville. I have imagined working in your Security Department. I knew that with 82 acres of beauty, that your company must take care of the workers, as they take care of the grounds of the campus. Then I was told what sacrifices your company expects from the officers, and how little you pay those Security Personnel. You want everyone and everything to feel safe, yet disrespect your Security Department with embarrassingly low wages. I don't know who makes the decisions of pay for your company, or especially this department, but you can do much better for your workers. If I ran this Department, I would demand higher wages, for the Security Officers, or show you the importance of these workers to your establishment.
