Absolutely wonderful experience. After a long day on the road, DoubleTree Suites greeted my family with an intentional greeting, even offering warm, fresh baked cookies for the whole family. The employee who checked us in was personable, professional, and completely welcoming. We will plan to book this hotel every time we come to Lexington from now on!

My husband and I stayed here for one night on March 30th, 2024. Unfortunately, their renovations stripped this hotel of the features that made it unique and special. The lobby is now very dark, gloomy, sterile, and uninviting. In addition, it was quite warm and stuffy. I did not see the restaurant, so I asked the front desk man what happened to it, and he told me, "If you want to eat from the restaurant, you have to eat at the bar now". Also, the elevators were very warm and uncomfortable. When we got off the elevator on to the third floor, there was not a sign showing what rooms were in which direction, so we ended up walking almost the entire perimeter of the atrium before we found our room. Not easy for my 62-year-old husband pushing a loaded down cart. The front desk told me later that they ordered the sign, but it had not come in yet. My question is, why not make a sign showing which rooms are in which direction, in the meantime? That would have helped us tremendously. As a result, he was exhausted the rest of the evening. The rooms are nice but dark. They used the same dark paint as they did in the lobby. There's no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so if you have a small family and you're all trying to take a shower the same evening, you will have a steam bath with no way to get the fog off the mirror, fyi. Speaking of baths, they removed all of the jetted bathtubs from the rooms except the honeymoon suite. What a disappointment! That was one of the features that made this hotel unique. I did like the clothes steamer they had in the bathroom. That was very convenient. Fyi, before getting in the shower, make sure the handheld apparatus is in the off position or it will shoot in the direction the previous user left it. I turned it on and it shot cold water across the bathroom, and got me my the night shirt I had left out to wear to bed that night, and no way to dry it. Last but not least, there is absolutely no manager there on the weekends the front desk person told me this, so if you're going to be there on the weekends just know there will not be a manager on duty. I did report the issues we had to the front desk person, albeit it he was kind and courteous, but there was nothing he could since he's not a manager. The front desk person on Saturday and Sunday is basically someone who checks you in and answers the phone.
