My Dad recently moved into Greenwood Terrace in Lenexa. We had an excellent move-in experience from the first contact from Megan, the Sales Manager, to the first day in the community when we were warmly invited by Monik, the Assistant Manager. My Dad's apartment had been recently renovated and had new carpet, a new refrigerator, sink, and counters in the bathroom and kitchen. Dad is enjoying the food and the freedom to visit friends and family. This was a great move!

The new chef can't keep up without help. The residents are always waiting a longer time than usual for their food because the new chef seems to focus more on making jokes , trying to be funny and trying to act cool instead of just focusing on the residents plates. She also will not listen to you when she's under stress to prevent problems. So many times I have tried to explain orders to her to prevent problems and she simply refuses to listen. I'm the one that has to answer to the residents on why they're having to wait so long for their food and why their orders are messed up! I'm also a housekeeper but I get held up in the dining room to serve breakfast and lunch. If the dishwasher decides not to come to work they also make that housekeeping s problem and make them stay behind to wash the dishes and set the tables. There are supposed to be 3 housekeepers for the entire building . I have been here a little over 3 months and they have only been able to just barely keep two housekeepers. In 3 months time they've only had al 3 housekeepers for about 2 weeks and that's it. The other housekeeper that they have us always late for work. He always shows up around 11:30 or 12 instead of 7:50. Then when he is there, he walks around with his phone listening to music all day and moves super slow . I don't know why they're allowing this . I have tried to explain to the management multiple times that the reason they're not able to get and keep housekeepers is because they don't want the added responsibility of the dining room! Three months in and they still think their plan is great but StiLL don't have full staffing !!! I have residents on the second floor constantly asking me if I'm also cleaning on second. I have to tell them there's no housekeeper on the second floor or that they quit . I also have residents always telling me things need to be done differently but they don't want to go to Janet. My residents are always terribly upset that in 3 months one of the laundry rooms has only had one working washer and one working dryer because the won't fix the other ones. I'm probably going to lose my job over this review but things have been needing to change long enough.

The community at Greenwood Terrace is fun, relaxing, inviting and charming. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful and well maintained. Activities are well planned and fun. The food is well balanced and delicious. The staff members are friendly, helpful and they feel like they are family.

I would give this place ABSOLUTELY ZERO stars if I could. Both from an employee perspective and prospective resident/loved one perspective. When I worked here, the General Manager said right to my face that she expects perfection. Which is SO unrealistic. Last time I checked, I am NOT perfect. It also DID NOT help when I show up on time and cannot enter because the door is locked and the chef doesnt show up on time. I would NOT want my parents to live here. Im just glad I was able to get both doses of my COVID-19 vaccine.
