ASAM Hotel

This was a good, no frills hotel. It felt like a start-up hotel that was still working out the bugs, but the room was clean and everything worked, except the wifi.

DO NOT stay here. We used Hotels.com booking which reflected good reviews; however, this is a 100% dive. I get the price point but we looked at 3 rooms and all were filthy. Sheets were not changed, bathrooms were dirty. One room had strong odor of urine. Unsure if pet or human. This place should be condemned.

Our family had a good experience at the Asem Hotel (motel). We recently traveled through the area and by the time that we realized we would need to stay the night in Goodland, most everything else was booked (except for one hotel charging close to $200 per room and we needed two rooms). There are not other towns close by, and we needed something for our family of 7. We called when we were were 45 minutes outside of town, hoping they would have 2 rooms for us. They were also pretty booked but actually had a room with 3 queen beds, for only $65. We didn't have much of a choice and obviously you can't beat that price. The lady on the phone was very nice and helpful. She said that if the office was closed when we arrive then the key would be in a box outside of the office. We were expecting the motel to be pretty old, run down, and dirty. It was definitely old and fairly run down but was decently clean and just fine for us to stay the night (again, especially for $65). When we arrived we were unsure if the office was closed. There was no key in the box. My husband waited a few minutes before a nice young couple came over to check us in and give us the key. They offered a late check out and gave my husband their phone number to call, in case we needed anything. The beds were clean and comfortable and we had everything that we needed for our stay. There is a Wal-Mart around the corner, to pick up any items that you may need and there are also plenty of fast food restaurants near by. Compared to a name brand hotel, I would have given this 2 stars, but for an old non-name brand motel, I gave this place 4 out of 5. It was good.

I will never use this Hotel again. I got my son a room for 4 nights while he was in town visiting. 2nd night my son was there he waited 20 minutes for the hot water to work. The 3rd night he accidentally left his room key in the room at 4am, we acknowledge that this was his own fault, the problem is that there is no one in the office at night so he couldn't get another key from the front desk like you can at ALL other hotels. He & I both called & I texted the phone number on the door of the office. No answer & no response. This IS completely unacceptable.

Simply put, don't stay here. We came at 10:30 and the office was already closed while it said that it closes at 11. Breakfast opens at 8 am but there's barely anything to eat. We ended up finding our own food. The staff treated us horribly for a misunderstanding their part because their system wasn't working. Two hours before check out they came were coming into our rooms without our permission and were blaming us for not paying while we had the reciept. Even called the cops on us and then couldnt even explain themselves calling it a "misunderstanding".Worst stay yet.
