Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Des Moines Downtown

Was not informed of parking fee when I made reservations!!!! My bill went from 750 to over 900 I have nvr heard of a hotel charging a parking fee when ur staying at there hotel !!! I will nvr stay here again Walkability: Across the street from wells fargo

Rachel the assistant manager was very condescending and rude when I spoke to her on the phone. She added a cleaning fee to my room without my knowledge be aware. Rachel really needs to work on her customer service skills and let the customer talk before she lectures from her soap box.

Great hotel to stay at, especially for an event at Wells Fargo Arena! Nice spacious rooms with high ceilings, and very clean! Breakfast was wonderful with very large buffet style/self serve selections as well! Do note that there is NO pool, but there IS a nice bar, and a fitness center as well! Parking also costs a little extra as well (I think $15 per night?), so be prepared for that! We stayed here to see Avenged Sevenfold on 3/15/24, and the convenience of being able to walk across the street before and after the show was well worth the price! Front desk staff was very friendly as well! If we ever come back for another event at Wells Fargo Arena, I would absolutely stay here again, and would certainly recommend it to others as well! Rooms: Nice spacious rooms with high ceilings, and very clean! Has microwave and mini fridge as well! Nearby activities: Wells Fargo Arena, skatepark, Iowa Events Center, Downtown Des Moines, East access to most areas in Des Moines! River is nearby as well! Walkability: Very close to river and downtown Des Moines, can walk most anywhere from here! Food & drinks: Breakfast was wonderful with very large buffet style/self serve selections, including scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, bagels, muffins, yogurt, bananas, apples, juices, milk, and coffee! There is a bar as well, with plenty of drink options, and a market area with bottled water and bottled soda!
