I've had loads of issues. My tub doesn't drain. It floods my bathroom and flooded my downstairs neighbors

Middle town property has made my transition so smooth coming from another state. Theyre always available and get things done in my apartment quickly. I hope to continue to work with them

I don't see how this company gets such positive reviews. It has been a pain to deal with every step of the way from applying to rent an apartment to now living in one and dealing with all sorts of maintenance issues and things that just should not be a problem. Take it as a sign that I decided within three months of moving in that I would not renew my lease. It doesn't seem to me like they care much about tenants except when they can make MiddleTown more money. Kensington/Chesterfield apartments are just not good enough for the price. The location is great for students but everything else about it sucks. The parking lot sucks. The appliances suck and we've had to put in several maintenance requests already. The laundry situation sucks ($4 a load for laundry), it all sucks. I settled for this out of necessity and I really wish I would've done things differently. Pay close attention to what they advertise and ask questions if you do a tour. I will say I appreciate the maintenance crew and those that help keep the place clean, they have been very helpful. It is the management that baffles me.

I worked with Middletown for a year between 2020-2021, and have lived with them in the same house since 2019. My home was recently sold and is under new management, so I'm now comfortable sharing just how terrible this company is, coming from a current tenant and ex-employee's perspective. I walked out of the company on my own accord due to not agreeing with their practices - I was not fired nor asked to resign, these are my honest opinions. I chose to be unemployed for two months while I looked for a new job, rather than work for MTPG, if that tells you anything. Being unemployed was better than being a part of this mess. If you can find absolutely ANY other company to live with - do it! Not one single employee at Middletown is a good person nor cares about any tenant whatsoever. They are self serving and care for themselves first. During my time as an employee there, they actually had a "hierarchy pyramid" for who was most important to keep happy - MTPG themselves were at the top of the pyramid (most important to keep happy), the owners of the homes they manage were second, and tenants were at the very bottom (least important to keep happy). They will screw you in every way imaginable and do whatever they can to get your money and not spend anything to maintain your home, even in emergency situations. I saw it time and time again as an employee. I have NEVER worked at a more unethical, gross company. Here's a list of all the experiences I had while living with Middletown for the past 5 years: - Home was not painted or cleaned at all upon move in, to start things off. - My home is a duplex, and the heat is ONLY controlled by the tenants in the front half. They did not disclose this prior to signing. On top of this, the heat on my side did not even work. My house is always freezing. - When they sent someone out for my heat, because my house was 50 degrees inside, he could not figure out the issue. He essentially shrugged his shoulders, said "Yeah it doesn't work, idk, sorry!" and left. This was never resolved to this day - I use space heaters in every room of my home even now. - My dryer smells hot/burning when it's run and is likely a fire hazard - they never fixed this, or seemed concerned. - I had squishy, soft kitchen floors for a year in my home, due to a leak under the home. I called multiple times over the course of the year to ask for follow up - they never sent anyone. I had to call the Board of Health, and someone magically showed up the very next day. The director of maintenance was rude, made sure to tell me this was "a lot of work" (as if it were my fault) and this was a "big mess".....when I'd been reporting it for a year and they didn't care. They ended up fixing the floor, but never totally resolved the issue, as there is still drywall damage to this day. - My bathroom floor is also wet and squishy, I asked them to look at this too. The rude director of maintenance took one step inside, jumped up and down, and said it was okay.....it's definitely not okay, they just are too lazy/cheap to actually fix anything. - Multiple times they had people show up to my house with no notice and expected entry right then - despite my lease saying I am required to get a 12 hours notice. They got angry when denied entry. - Maintenance men are creeps - not all of them, but vast majority are pervy and gross. - Agents/maintenance men don't pay attention to the apartment number in multi-unit homes, and people barged into my side of the duplex when they were supposed to be up front. - In the five years I've lived there, they've come out 2 times to do "regular" inspections. If my home had issues or was not safe in any way - they wouldn't know nor care! All in all, my home has been TERRIBLY maintained - and my home is one of the better ones they managed! All in all, the worst part is how much NOBODY there cares about you. They will send people to your house at all hours, barge in on you, and not repair a THING. I cannot stress it enough - this company is run by terrible human beings all around.
