Jackson Hewitt Tax Service

I would give no stars if I could. I called last week (six days in advance) to book an appointment with them for today at 11 AM. Easy enough. I show up today at 10:57 and I was surprised to see people sitting at the table already. I figured they were wrapping up so I stood near a self checkout waiting. Within a minute or so I realized they were only starting. Im a little frustrated but nobody has said anything to me yet. The guy at the table (Brandon R, according to his card) starts looking over at me with a scowl like Ive done something wrong. But he says nothing to me. A few minutes pass and he looks over and glares at me again. Then he pulls out a cellphone and calls someone, talking about me standing there, but still says nothing to me. Finally about 11:10 or 11:15, this guy finally speaks to me. In a super snarky and sarcastic voice, he asks, do you have an appointment? obviously assuming I did not by his tone. Yes I do. For 11. Well these people do too, youre going to have to wait probably 45 minutes. Why did I bother to make an appointment if youre just going to waste my time? They double booked this slot, these people have an appointment too. Youll have to take it up with my boss. Theres a reason Im not upset with them, let me talk to your boss. He handed me his card and I called the number. The woman who answered was as unhelpful as possible and told me to reschedule or wait until hes done. I said my time is more valuable than youre making it out to be and if Im staying here and waiting I expect a discount for wasting my time. She said hed have to call his boss (and Im thinking wait this was the number he told me to call to talk to his boss!) so at this point I just called H and R Block, who got me in and out in under a half hour.

Called their office to make an appointment to only be told, Oh Ill have to give you this other number makes a lot of sense. So I asked if this is Jackson Hewitt, why am I calling a other place?? Then the rude secretary just hung up on me. What a classless establishment. Looks like Ill have someone else do my taxes.

This year 2023 we did our Tax refund at Jackson Hewitt at E. Washington and Post Road. Latasha is very nice. She explained everything and gives us some tips. Definitely want to see her again next year.
