Ive been going here for close to a year now for allergy shots. All the staff are prompt, courteous, and very professional. Even at their busiest times Ive waited no more than 5 minutes in their office.

Leaving this clinic was the best decision I made. Ive gone to this downtown clinic for almost a year and am not going back, for many reasons. I chose this clinic because it was close to my house. Here are the reasons Im not going back; 1. Some of the allergy shot nurses are very aggressive with shots - I would NOT take my children here. 9 times out of 10, the shot will be administered over the muscle area. Which, leads to more pain and swelling and is not how shots are supposed to be administered (this is what the NP told me). Ive had allergy shots at 3 other clinics and none of them were administered as aggressively as nurses at this clinic have. 2. If you set up a payment plan with them and give them your payment information, its NOT stored securely. They save the credit card data in their email calendar (this is what Stacey told me), which is NOT secure. Do not give your credit card data to this clinic. 3. If you set up a monthly payment plan with them or tell them you prefer to pay on a monthly basis (if youre getting shots, youll go in once per week for a long time), they will still ask you every single time you go in, to make a payment (even though they say its OK to pay once per month). Every single time. They say its because thats their policy. This is harassment. Using policy to harass patients is egregious. 4. They will charge you $10 to have your medical records sent to a different medical facility (as if its the year 1985) - which is not listed on their website anywhere. Good luck getting them to send said records - I emailed them (which they never responded to) and then called them (during this call they confirmed they got my email and said the request form was in a stack to do) and then I had to call them again to make sure this was completed (because it wasn't completed). At which point, they called me back and told me there was a $10 fee (but NEVER mentioned the fee the first two times I contacted them about this). What choice do I have but to pay so I can get out of this clinic?! They basically own your medical records and that doesnt seem right to me. 5. This clinic operates like its 1990 where electronic paperwork is not a thing, paying online is pretty pointless because you wont even get a receipt - youll have to call the clinic to ask them to send you a receipt and they will send one to you in the mail. There is no online patient portal. I made a payment over the phone and asked if they could email me the detailed receipt and they said they could not (although, subsequent receipt were emailed to me). Anything that might make your life easier does not exist here. 6. Despite all of that, what really pushed me to leave and stop tolerating the harassment was the disgust I felt from them treating me as though I was incompetent. They treat their patients like theyre incompetent, and I wont tolerate that anymore. Their policies, practices, and culture reflect just how incompetent they think their patients are. If you tell them you know your insurance benefits, they will tell you your benefits anyways because they think you just cant possibly know (kind of like mansplaining but from the medical field so lets call it, medsplaining) and they will rationalize this by saying theyre just being thorough. If you tell them your insurance card has not changed, they will tell you they need to copy your card again anyways, even though they just got a copy two months prior, even though I can see the numbers on my card have not changed. But they rationalize this behavior as just being thorough. With all of the other issues here, I wont tolerate it anymore. You better have some other convenience for me to keep coming, paying you, and taking this mistreatment and harassment. The convenience of location has been far outweighed by all of the issues Ive listed above. Im extremely happy with the new provider I chose because they dont do anything I listed above that this practice does.

Arrived and signed in at 10:30 on a Wednesday. There was new year paperwork to complete which I did and at 10:40 when my son still had not been called back I approached the desk to investigate. I was assured that he would be called back quickly by the woman to whom I had given my paperwork. Ten minutes later at 10:52 my son still had not been called and I approached the desk again. This time I was greeted by Melissa and a petite woman whose name it didnt catch. I asked again how long it would be and Melissa went to check. I then began to explain we would not be able to wait much longer but was interrupted by the petit woman who stated she is checking. Irritated at being interrupted I said regardless of the answer we may need to leave to get back to school. Melisa returned and promised my son would be called quickly while giving the petit woman a raised eyebrow, and roling her eyes giving that look that people share when they want to imply something like good grief can you believe her . I think that Melissas lack of empathy for our situation is unacceptable. We had waited 25 just to get a shot. Her behavior is disrespectful after all we are the patient and without us there is no need for her at all. I hope Dr. Hubbard is made aware of this interaction.
