Renter beware: the truth is not what it seems at Verdana, starting with many of these other reviews, which are not of the building but actually of maintenance work done on reviewers respective units, for which they received a feedback form via email; Optima is, unbeknownst to residents, funneling them here to Google. But Verdanas issues begin well before that: developers rushed construction to meet promised move-in dates and placate certain litigious prospective tenants, resulting in shoddy, sometimes unfinished construction (see pics from our move-in); the ongoing maintenance the building and its units require is, as a result, endless; mishapssay, repeated fire alarmsare not infrequent. Amazingly, it gets worse. Because the developers chose not to cover the concrete curtain wall, the building popsloudlyat the slightest change in temperature. Flaws in the plumbing/ductwork design has meant the buildings HVAC system could not properly heat a majority of units in its first winter; the building had to purchase and distribute space heaters to residents. To say the obvious: these are structural issues that cannot be addressed with easy fixes; Optima has thus far been unwilling and/or unable to commit to address them.
