Kathy is a God send! It's so refreshing to meet someone who truly cares about their customers. She suggested a 2nd opinion on my current script which proved to be incorrect. I got a new script and even though I've had epic fails with progressives in the past, Kathy recommended HD progressives. I was more than pleasantly surprised with the clarity of the lense and they weren't nauseating. I highly recommend Whalen Optical. Thank you Kathy...God always gives us what we need and you are a blessing!

I went there five years ago and now need new glasses. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!  I got regular, reading, and computer glasses back then and they have been flawless.  I so much appreciated the help choosing frames. I still love all three.

This is a Mom and Pop store. I cannot tell you how happy I am with this place. I've been to all the local chain eyeglass places and some very miserable experiences.... This is NOT that place!I first found them about 1.5 years ago when nobody else would do the work I needed. They were the ONLY place I could find that would fit lenses on a special frame I already had. I had Airsoft/ski goggles with special frame inserts. They were happy to take care of my needs and exceeded my expectations.I have since had them do custom work like this again and have always been extremely happy with not only the results but the experience. Today I had a lens fall out on my sunglasses. I did not buy them here. My warranty has run out at the local chain store I got them from a few years back.  I just thought they deserved my business after my previous interactions and brought them here. They gladly fixed them for me and absolutely refused payment. I actually tried....  This is more than a business. This is a husband and wife with a honest soul.When I need another set of glasses, there is no doubt in my mind I'm coming back here.

The only place to go.  ALSO the only place in Rockford that have opticians with actual DEGREES in their field!!!  The Whalens are great.
