    I probably should have read the reviews before I applied. I agree with Kash and her review. They dont answer the phone and try to conduct business via text. I received several text messages from Francesca asking for information for my husband. My husband asked me to call her with him on the phone or ask her to call him and let him know what was needed. She said shed call never did and sent ME a text the next day demanding bank statements by 3PM and threatening to cancel the application. So we told her to cancel it then. I do not recommend, very unprofessional. Were not buying a home, were renting an overly priced house on a compound where you cant have guests because theres NO parking. I hope my deposit refund doesnt take months.

    DO NOT MOVE HERE IF YOU ARE COMING FROM OUT OF STATE! Dealing with a legal battle with this company for several months now. Applied back in June-July of 2023 with Francesca, at the time the property manager was Tracy who is now gone. Explicitly advised both of them I did not live in the state and it was a company move, I was unsure if I was officially moving. I was coerced into putting a deposit down being advised thats the only way they could hold the property (that was a lie). I advised Francesca on 8/31 via email and phone (as they stated I had to do) I would no longer be moving there, that was roughly 2 months before the move in date which was 10/21, on that same call on 8/31/23 she advised me that the move in date would be pushed back due to transformers not being available, additionally, the home wasnt completely built as it was still being worked on; it was not move-in ready nor habitable at the time of this call. Fast forward to 9/20 I advised them again I would not be able to move due to my company cancelling the move, and asked for my deposit back, she basically declined and said Id have to talk to Tracy. Tracy was never available to speak with whenever I called, so I went their property management, Continental Properties, who is just as bad, got nowhere. I followed their requirements by sending an email requesting to cancel the APPLICATION, I receive an email (no phone call) from Tracy of a canceled lease agreement with essentially a forfeited deposit. I never moved in there, I never even lived in the state. Reviewing their terms and lease agreement it states IF the PROPERTY must push back the move in date and you wish to cancel you are allowed to request and receive your deposit back, on top of that I canceled the application within their 60 day notice policy timeframe. Avanterra Wolfs Crossing, why havent I received my $2,350 deposit back? This is in the process of being filed in court, as well as a BBB review which their property management company Continental Properties has terrible ratings. They are not an honest company nor do they follow the proper landlord tenant laws under the state of IL which also states they are required to issue a refund back to the applicant if an application is canceled. Once again I never lived here therefore there wasnt a lease to terminate. I hope they do the right thing and give me my money back for the APPLICATION DEPOSIT to HOLD the property while I was waiting for it to be built.

    Having been living here for over a month now I feel I have a pretty good feel for what it's like being a resident here. The customer service from the front office and maintenance staff is top notch! From the initial visit taking a tour to moving in and the few maintenance requests everything has been smooth and prompt. The homes themselves are modern and fairly well built. The reason for an average rating rather than 5 stars is the mandatory internet/tv service that's required. While the complex was probably sold on the "ease of use", as the end user it is atrocious. It is not true fiber Internet as touted in the marketing materials and instead a managed Wifi network with each household having their own login credentials. This makes it a nightmare for smart devices as you have no control over the network you're trying to connect to, and you can't use your own router as that service is not allowed by the property according to Dish. The included smart thermostat and door lock did not work for a week as I had to open a ticket with both Dish and SmartRent (the company behind the smart devices) to get them to work together. The "TV service" is a website that can't be used on a TV unless using a Firestick that can have the Onstream app installed or by having your laptop/PC casting the website. Apps that require a TV provider login (ABC, NBC, etc) don't work with the provided service by the property as it's not Dish Network TV. This makes it useless to watch things on an actual TV. If the community had a better mandatory ISP/TV service, or allowed residents to get their own service with their provider of choice, it would be a much better value especially if you work from home. As is, it's a bit overpriced for what you get living here.
