This preschool was exactly what I was looking for to build a foundation for my kiddos. Hobson is warm and child centered. Using play and nature as the base, the teachers provide gentle guided learning opportunities based on child development not school readiness. They learn social skills, fine and gross motor, they explore and develop of love of learning. Both my kids loved this place, we go back as much as we can, and they both are very successful in real school.

This is a great play based school that goes above and beyond in every respect. The learnings for students and sense of community for the entire family prepares kids for their next phase in life and affords bonds that may be life long.

Hobson brings a nature play based learning experience to children ages 2-5.  The school is Naperville's oldest running preschool of over 50 years now. To see the doors still open to the community allowing for children to thoroughly explore and find out many answers to their curious and vulnerable wonders goes beyond the traditional classroom.  Being a cooperative school provides families the opportunity to be an active part of their children's first steps on their educational journey.  Hobson is all about family and we are proud to be a part of it!

Were on our second year of enjoying this nature play-based school! Our boys love Hobson from the outdoor play every day to the collaborative play that naturally builds as the children interact with one another...learning from each other and being guided by a phenomenal and dedicated staff.

All three of my children have attended Hobson (started in 2014 and last one will end in May 2020)! This is an incredible experience for the kids and parents alike. The kids are encouraged to explore, discover and get messy in meaningful play. As a bonus, the parents are also invited to watch their kids benefit from being in nature (in rain, snow and sunshine!) and witness how they can truly learn concepts like reading, math, logic and even friendship skills while they engage in their self-directed play. Director is wonderful and approachable and the community is one-of-a-kind! But do note that it is a co-op and there will be family responsibilities (unlike a traditional school!) so be sure you know understand what's expected of you! Get a tour and find out for yourself if this is a perfect spot for your child(ren!)
