Very disappointed in the emergency room. I went in after I was at an immediate care center and was told to go right to the er. I was having chest pains and other heart attack symptoms. After waiting approximately 5 hours I was still never seen. I was still sitting in the ER waiting room. The front desk person told my son said it would be a minimum of another hour and 1/2. She printed out my EKG and told him if it were a heart attack they would have brought me back already. I asked to have my IV taken out. I was so tired and just wanted to go to bed. A nurse came out to take my IV out and another nurse stated loudly in front of the whole ER waiting room, "half this ER is complaining of chest pains!" This is completely rude and unprofessional behavior. There were people in pain, including myself and the nurse announced in front of everyone, that half of us were experiencing chest pain. I was never seen by a doctor and the one nurse dismissed us all in a public way. So unacceptable.

DO NOT GO HERE! Insane wait times and they made up lies in my notes to cover themselves. Apparently no ER in our area moves quickly, but this one is the worst so far. After being told by my doctor I needed to go to the ER post-surgery, I sat for 4 hours without seeing a doctor or being placed in a bed. They briefly pulled me from the waiting room to do bloodwork and put an IV port in, and to do X-rays. I literally got my results while we were still waiting, which is indicative of how long everything was taking. They kept walking through and calling out names of people who were supposed to be brought back but left presumably out of impatience (they did this for HOURS after they left). People had been there for hours before I arrived and were still sitting there when I eventually left. At one point, the relative of a patient who was having chest pains got frustrated at the long wait, and the employee they were speaking to yelled out, Half this waiting room has chest pains right now! They left and hopefully found a more empathetic hospital. I saw a nurse twice about 1.5 hours in when they drew blood, and right before I left to have my port removed. My X-ray showed the situation was not as emergent as we had feared so I asked if we could leave since we were not being brought back to a room and sitting there was making my pain worse. The woman at registration happily said yes and just had me wait for a few minutes to have my port removed. At no point was there discussion about needing to wait for a doctor to review my results, etc. However, upon receiving my notes in my app, someone fabricated a discussion with a nurse briefly before my release. They claimed I left against advice, that they warned me to wait to speak with a doctor, and that after-care instructions were given that I verbally agreed to. None of this happened. They will apparently make up lies to cover their incompetence. Unprofessional and unethical behavior avoid at all costs.

Apparently, you have to sit on a chair in their waiting room for up to ten hours in order to get emergency medical assistance after being taken to the emergency room by the ambulance?? I had to go back home in Uber and in the morning seek help from a compassionate doctor who cares about our veterans. Unbelievable! I hope never to see those people again...

My family member was treated kindly at registration and the triage nurse was incredibly efficient. The nurses, doctors, and physicians assistant that assisted in the ER were all very professional, courteous, and treated my elderly family member with patience and kindness. Thank you, Northshore!
