TLDR: if Kelly is available to be your realtor, I highly, highly recommend choosing her.
Asking her to be our realtor was by far the best decision we made when starting the hunt for our first home for the following reasons:
1. She is super experienced so she knows the questions to ask sellers to make sure you are getting the home you want. For example, we were looking at an older home and she suggested we make sure to inspect the drainage in case old tree roots have gotten in the way which can be extremely expensive. Thanks to her experience we avoided a lot of homes that might have been a lot of trouble and really found one we wanted.
2a. She works well with the seller. We were not the highest bidder for the home but Kelly took the time to work with the home seller to communicate the narrative that we were dependable, cooperative buyers, which I think was instrumental in convincing the seller to choose our bid.
2b. She also does a THOROUGH review of home purchases and sales in the area to help you bid for your house at the right price. This was so helpful to get the home we wanted for the price we wanted.
3. She is very flexible to accommodate your schedule. I felt so bad but often we'd ask for her to meet us with less than a day's notice and she'd be there. We covered five north shore suburbs which she knew about. (Thank you Kelly)
4. She has an amazing network of lenders and attorneys that she works with and recommends. We shopped around for inspectors lenders and attorneys, and hers gave us the best rates and were really easy to work with.
5. She's such a joy to work with. She's patient, positive, supportive, always prepared with information about each house and even gave us a generous housewarming gift after we closed.
I can keep going on, but we are just so lucky to have found her through Zillow.
