Personally, after the numerous negative experiences Ive had at Banfield Gold Coast, I think Dr Baldwin and some of her staff should get fired and/or receive an audit from corporate for misconduct. From misdiagnosing my puppys broken arm and not explaining or being adamant about an X-ray to detect the broken arm early on (she called it potential puppy growth pains) to then having an ASSISTANT from the VERNON HILLS location explain to her the right dosage of the medication he needs when she was wrong and said they dont carry it in his dosage (shes a doctor who went to veterinary medical school - why doesnt she know this herself?), she is not equipped to care for pets. I wish I knew what I knew now, but I highly encourage to seek care elsewhere. The Banfield Vernon Hills and Banfield Brickyard locations are wonderful. As a first time pet parent, it is so crucial to be told the right information so your pet is well taken care of. This place is not it. Some of the staff members have awful attitudes too. Do not come here, please take your pet elsewhere for their safety.

These are important and emotional decisions related to our pets.. so, I'm grateful we've found a vet and team that takes such good care of our pup and us. We've been coming to this Banfield for a few years now since moving to Chicago and it's been a great experience. We have a 9 year old black lab and have him on the monthly wellness plan that has us coming in for regular exams, vaccinations, and check ups. Highlights: (1) The receptionist - She was extremely welcoming, apologetic to the customers waiting to be checked in for the drop-off wait, was friendly/empathetic with each customer during the check-in process, and was diligent with ensuring she had a good understanding of the reason for our visit and any of our concerns/questions. She was also just as helpful during the checkout/pick-up process. She was informative on the recommendations and ensured we felt comfortable with Bruce Wayne's status. And they give take home bags with hand written pet names and stickers on them! (2) The Doctor - I forget her name, but she gave us a call when Bruce's appointment was wrapped up. She was also very friendly and positive with her informative communication of updates. She answered our follow-up questions on the updates, shared specifics on how Bruce did, and reassured us of any concerns we had come in with. (3) Parking/Location - There's two entrances to the parking areas and both are easy to access and lead to ample parking behind the vet. The trends with the team members are their communication tone/method, diligence/organization, and empathetic considerations - No matter the reason, vet visits tend not to be an exciting experience for both the pet and the human, and these approaches to customer and pet experience are very appreciated and important to the business. They also have ample sitting area in the waiting room, a ish tank, and positive affirmation signs by the pet scale :)
