Used First American's 1031 escrow services earlier this year, was disappointed with the lack of transparency and follow up from their business development manager, Jeannie Bruke as well as the rest of the staff. Received my funds at the end of the 6 month period as I was unable to roll the funds into a new property, funds were remitted to my trust without any interest acrewed on the balance. When I raised my concerns to the office staff I was given the run around. It wasnt till I threatened legal action and referecned the IRS code 1031 stating that, trustees hold funds in a 100% FDIC insurance (on accounts larger than $250,000) and earn interest on their exchange funds that I was remitted my interest. Do yourself a favor and use Fidelity.
