It was a short wait to check that was fine. Then, I was told how much my copay was, that seemed like something to look past at first. I do not like how an automatic service is added without asking. I respectfully declined and asked for it to be removed. See, if you have public insurance, they'll ask if you want the service because usually there is no copay. I don't like that. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. I know my insurance and what I'm supposed to pay before I use it. Secondly, the eye exam went well. I forgot the Doc' s name but she was good. Then time for the glasses. I don't like paying for a person's name, which means nothing to me but you can do designer, great! They help you shop for glasses and maybe it's good customer service, but why head to the designer (customer service no, sales pitch) when I said I don't pay for that. Then try to get you to try them on anyway. It doesn't matter to me. It's dumb to wear 700 dollar glasses, that's more than a car note and half of a mortgage. I declined respectfully and picked glasses that were 220, and my insurance pays 175 for the frames. Then, they started adding up all these things on the lens. Again, I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman. I was never asked about these features. I don't even wear glasses at night or while driving, so why would I want all this stuff for night? I said it a million times. I don't need a special lens. I only wear them to read and see my computer. At that point, I got irritated of constantly asking to take things off but dealing with a sales pitch before it was removed. So I just asked to pay my copay that I was supposed to pay and exited the car lot, I mean your eye doctor. At this point, I'm good. After all that, I needed a nap.

Very nice reception, and good customer service, specifically by Magdy Beshay, I received quality glasses for my 3 kids at a good price and great quality, and it didnt take too long for the glasses to arrive either.

BEWARE THAT THIS OPTICAL WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU OUT OF $44 BY LYING ABOUT YOUR VISION INSURANCE COPAY. The receptionist's words to me were: "Your copay is $44 because the insurance covers the eye glasses prescription but doesn't cover the health check up." I told them that I have never once been charged a copay through my insurance to check my eyes. They lied again stating that my previous eye doctors must have only done an eye prescription check, not a health check which is not true at all. I know that the comprehensive eye exam (eye health check up) AND refraction (eyeglass prescription) are covered under my insurance in full. I asked another employee for clarification on what the $44 was for and they finally admitted that it was for a machine called optos/optomap which takes pictures of the retinas. I have worked in multiple opticals in the past and am VERY knowledgeable about the eyecare industry, including the optos machine and how vision insurances work. As an individual who has no eye health problems, the optos is not necessary for me. I did NOT appreciate being lied to about my copay. If a service is optional and costs extra then you need to be up front about that and explain what the service is before trying to charge the patient by lying about their copay. I do not want other people to be taken advantage of and scammed out of their money. My 2 star rating is generous and only because the optician who did my pre-testing and the eye doctor were nice to me.
