Dr. Gia and her staff are amazing. She truly listened to my concerns and after years of biopsies and lumpectomies, with recommendations and consultations with my gynecologist, PCP, and genetic counselor, we proceeded with a prophylactic double mastectomy. I believe I am her first patient to go through this process without a known genetic marker or cancer and I have zero regrets two years later. I wouldnt have gone through this process with any other breast surgeon by my side. Ill forever be grateful for Dr. Gia.

Very skilled doctor. I was very lost and scared when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she directed me on what would be the best treatment to cure me, which is what she did. I had a double mastectomy , and because of the surgery, I am cancer free!!! I am very happy with her recommendation because she cured me of my breast cancer. I am so grateful for this doctor!!

I think most of these reviews are fake. Especially because they are generic. Dr. C came highly recommended when it was advised that I needed breast surgery. I had small 4mm pre-cancer cells in right breast. It was a scary time, however, this Dr. was pushing double mastectomy & implants. I believe due to my excellent insurance because she actually had the nerve to mention that my insurance would pay 100% for this & implants. I felt this to be a little extreme considering the size of the cells and the fact that I did not actually have cancer. At my request, she performed a lumpectomy, successfully with clear margins. However, she was late for 8am surgery, and informed me right before that she needed to put in a marker. I tried to refuse. She said I had to. After surgery, she informed my husband that she did not put the marker in, not due to my request, but because it was too close to my muscle. Then days following surgery I had to beg for an extra test to see if I was at risk of recurring. She reluctantly ordered it. At the same time, she kept pushing me to do radiation in which, why would I do radiation when she got it all out, it was 4mm tiny, and its not cancer??? Answer is: Standard of care is the same as cancer. She was not willing to budge her thinking outside of her standard of care. Standard of care is to push double mastectomy. I felt bullied at this point. I would never recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. She may be a skilled surgeon, but her bedside manner is horrible along with her pushing for the surgery that will make her MORE money from my insurance. Needless to say, we parted ways. I have since have been doing active surveillance, and have 2 normal mammograms since my unnecessary lumpectomy 2 1/2 years ago. If I knew then, what I know now, I actually wouldve never had the surgery, but that option unfortunately was never offered by this insensitive doctor. Please do your research first and before ever considering Dr. Compagnoni!!!
