United canceled my flight and we were given vouchers for a room. The staff were overwhelmed with dozens of passengers attempting to secure rooms all at the same time. This was also after United kept delaying our flight since earlier in the afternoon. The hotel is pretty basic, no-frills. It's only plus is it's proximity to the airport. Could use some updating and better cleaning. Food vouchers were also provided but the hotel's restaurant was closed and the nearest food outlets were McDonald's and IHOP a block away. The McDonald's is a spot for the vagrants to loiter and panhandle. Our group had 4 different individuals approach us while we were there. I offered to buy each of them meals but they refused and wanted cash.

Our daughter checked in the hotel tonight, 10:00pm from their flight from LA to Honolulu for one night. They have a 5:30am flight to Sydney so just a night to have a goodnight sleep. To their surprise found 7 cockroaches in their room! My husband called front desk and spoke to Angela and her response was its tropical, what do you expect!
