Valet service / knowledge / personality was a 10. We came here after deciding to extend our trip on a budget due to a miserable weather forecast back home in New England. The valet guys and the cleaning lady really did make the other slightly negative aspects easier to handle. Overall, nothing made the stay "bad" but here are some things to remember: 1) the pool is not heated, which is surprising since they built it on the shady side of the building. If you want to enjoy it, you gotta get to it before noon before the sun hides behind the building for the rest of the day. Who cares tho? So I had to take a 20 minute drive to a breathtaking beach...we sucked it up. 2) I thought the room was a little dusty; maybe the filters to the AC need changing or a deep cleaning of the carpets in the room maybe. I felt the dust making it hard for our sinuses to stay clear so big deal we slept with the patio door open and enjoyed the hawaiian breeze. Only issue there is that there is a lot going on outside noise-wise, but we don't mind that so much. Once the staff knows you tip you can get whatever you want, including priority on room cleaning and having your car ready to go at all times. Couple bucks goes a long way during brief interactions (I think I spent 50 in singles in tips for four days, 2 bucks at a time)I would avoid breakfast at IHOP and do the aloha cafe instead, or else take a short drive to the third floor Macys cafe nearby at the shopping center. pricey, but worth it. We didn't experience the hotel restaurant much but Kendal in the cafe is a good contact for anything you may need locally that you can't find easily. These breakfast tips are really the total sum of what we wish we knew before staying in the area. Oh ya, the other thing is if you feel you want an inexpensive dinner after a long day, visit the ABC market in the evening before they close and grab some 20% off prepared food. The sushi there is top notch for grab and go even after getting discounted. one last bit... I wouldnt bother walking to the beach from this location as it is somewhat depressing.and crowded. Hanauma (spelling) Bay is really the way to go but be sure to go on the website at 700 am sharp a morning or two before visiting as ticket slots are extremely competitive. Book any time and then just show up whenever and they let you in even if you're early. So freaking awesome. Rent the gear! Anyhow, DT Hilton was awesome place to stay and great as a hub between epic adventures. No shortage of clean towels and warm smiles and the lobby is a dope location to hang out and enjoy the open air and people-watch while your waiting for your snot-nosed kids to stop complaining or take unexpected trips to the bathroom. Super good time...sad to be back home having to go to work in the morning. I need to win the lottery!

Old and dirty. Paid $4000 for a week Never again. Its really simple when the refill soap and shampoo is out it is your job to refill. It is your job to clean the room and make the bed. Also update and remodel the rooms. On 4/2/23 day 5 we had to ask 3 times for housekeeping to refill the soap dispenser. Its not that hard to make sure promised amenities are in the room after cleaning it.
