Regrettably, I paid Sandy Burney a $200 dollar consultation fee. I just wanted to pay the full retainer amount to hire her for a custody matter instead of paying a lawyers consultation fee. A attorney's consultation fee is a rip-off, in my opinion. It just means free money for them, especially if the attorney decide not to represent you at the end of the consultation. Sandy assured me that she would represent me after Id scheduled a paid phone consultation fee. I thought this was a bit odd. But I was like whatever, lets get it done. Sandy gave me useless subpar information during our phone consultation. The consultation info she gave me was meaningless info other attorneys had given me for free beforehand. Sandys consultation was basic info regarding law that you can easily research on Google. It was nothing insightful, or impactful that I could use within my case. Or utilized to help my case. Her consultation was not worth $200. If Sandy would have told me previously that she couldnt take my case I wouldnt have scheduled a consultation with her. She's a liar. And basically reneged on her word and lied in typical lawyer fashion. It's a lesson learned. Never do business legally with a person with no integrity. Any lawyer who does not honor their word is not worthy of your precious time and money. Seek an honest attorney who gives a free consultation. But importantly an attorney who has more than 20 reviews. I find it strange that she only have 1 review on Google as of October 2022. Thats a red flag in itself. Take heed to this warning!

Sandy has represented me for the past three years in probably the worst contested custody case imaginable. Throughout the entire process, Sandy was very supportive and responsive. She was always well prepared for court, very knowledgeable, and gave very good advice. In court, Sandy performed extremely well; her cross-examination is absolutely brutal. We gained substantial ground at every single hearing, and the end result was a landslide victory in my favor. I would take Sandy's counsel in any courtroom for anything, hands down.
