    Initially, when I purchased the blinds for my home, Carleen, was so nice and accommodating to me over the phone but isn't everyone nice to you when you are giving them your business? Now I have an issue with the remote and shade for my skylight. Tried to fix the issue myself. Even asking for an instructional video online perhaps. Directed me to a video and it helped me figure out how to replace the batteries in the shade itself. Success. I searched for videos to program the remote because it lost its programming from not being used for so long. Remote was not holding the programming. The lights were still coming on so it did not appear that the batteries needed replacing. They didn't instruct me to switch out the batteries for the remote itself. In the meantime, I sent emails letting them know the progress, or lack of, that I was making. Did all I could so I could fix the problem myself. I sent them about 4 or 5 emails letting them know I got the shade to work after replacing the batteries but remote was not working properly. They ultimately said that they would send out one of their guys to see what was going on. Their tech comes out. The lights on the remote are flashing. He changes out the batteries and programs the remote. It works. It took like 2-3 minutes. Proceeds to tell me I have to pay $99. I'm very shocked because I had tried to diagnose this by myself and there was absolutely no mention of a charge for their tech to come out and do this. I had communicated through email several times, what I was doing and what I could do to fix the problem myself. He tells Carleen I'm asking about the service fee. I hear her voice through the cellphone speaking to her tech (not on speakerphone). She sounds very agitated. He hands to phone over to me and she verbally berates me over the phone, doing her very best to belittle me. I was completely shocked at her tone and how upset she was at me for questioning why I was being charged this, especially when she never told me beforehand that it was going to cost this. Her aggressive tone did not build up. It was just there! 100% from the start! Verbally assaulting me over the phone and cutting me off, not letting me speak. She immediately started yelling at me insinuating how ignorant I was and how nothing in life is free and how could I possibly assume they would come do this out of courtesy. It didn't matter that I spent close to $15,000 for the blinds in my house. That was in the past. This is now. And that it is stated in the paperwork from 4 years ago there would be charges. Really??? From 4 years ago. You want me to grab the paperwork and go over all the fine details before you send a tech out? I seriously was in shock in the way she was speaking to me, over $99, after previously spending around $15,000 with them for the blinds. She left the phone conversation basically stating that I'm on my own if I experience any other issues with the blinds in the future... all of this over $99. I've never had a problem with Rick or their techs. I think they are professional as can be. But Carleen was just very nasty and aggressive. She cast blame on me for everything. Not even owning up to her misunderstanding that I was never told to change out the batteries in the remote. The lights on the remote were still coming on. The thought never even crossed my mind that it was the batteries in the remote. But according to Carleen, even though I changed those remote batteries out, I was too inept to program the remote. (She was) Not backing down at all. Ultimately threatening a lawsuit if I dare post what I just experienced in a review. She also could not stop hurling insults at me calling me a liar and that I was delusional and claiming that I was harassing them. I contacted them 3 times in 4 years. I guess that's the new definition of harassment! Wow! SMH! I'm still in shock how I've been treated by Carleen! They are cheaper than the others but you get what you pay for with them. Or is it because I'm a minority of an inferior race?
