Avis Car Rental

Awful! They attempted to sell me full coverage at the counter when I collected the car even though I had already purchased through Auto Europe. They then tried to convince me I wasn't covered in order to get me to buy it again!!. I collected the car with 340 miles of gas in the tank and returned it with 390 and they still had the nerve to tell me I returned it with less than what I had when I started and charged me a fuel surcharge!!! Won't use then again.

Avis was great but the car sucked frankly making a long drive rather unpleasant. Better attention to details can make a huge difference to customer satisfaction.

The car itself was fine. The person at the airport pickup didnt explain very much. On top of that i was charged an extra 60$ due to being 12 minutes late with the car. We gave our selves an hour and a half to get there (should have been about 45 min drive) there is no grace window. We did everything we could to get there, and the tampa traffic still delayed us. Pretty disappointing. I would understand if we were more than a half hour late to charge some sort of fee. to be charged an entire day's fee over less that 15 minutes seems a bit unfair.

Company is great! Pick up a breeze if you are preferred customer. Miss one star because 2 times I have dropped cars here and people doing the check out have no sense of pride in what they do. I know pay might could be better, but u dont have to have attitude, guy even slam keys up on dash, lol.

Made reservation weeks ago. Got emails saying car is ready and available even hours before my scheduled pick up. Show up and told no cars in stock. This is a reenactment of the Seinfeld segment when a reservation is made and the car agency doesnt honor the hold on the reservation. When we show up, all we are told is there are no cars and to come back the next morning. A sign says the agency has 24 hours to provide a car. So if you choose this place, know that even a reservation thats prepaid wont get you a car at least within the time you choose. And you will have to figure out for yourself how to navigate without a car that you paid for. So research how to get to your destination for alternatives and to return when a car may or may not be available. Or just do yourself a favor and dont use Avis here.
