Mary McLeod Bethune Apartments

When I first moved into the Mary McLeod Bethune Apartments, I was impressed by the renovation and tidy grass and other landscaping. But slowly the place became a mess, inside and out. There are no longer staff in charge of cleaning due to lack of, or misappropriation of funds. The landscaping has degraded down to the condition it was in before renovation. Nearly ALL amenities have come to a halt. Theater room has been locked for over 2 years. It is nearly impossible to get into the computer room. Playing pool ceased when staff confiscated cues and balls because of theft. Elevators are down for lengthy periods. People who suffer from severe medical disabilities end up stuck, either on upper floors, or in the lobby. We can't use the laundry because the machine that transfers credit to our laundry card is out of order. Yet the federal government PAYS the brunt of our rent. PAYS for amenities we are all denied. PAYS to the tune of over $1,000.00 per month, per apt, for 150 apts. PAYS for upkeep of the property that is simply not carried out. Other than all of that, the place is darn near perfect! Just for the record: ALL OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS RELATED TO MARY BETHUNE APARTMENTS PERTAIN TO CONDITIONS AT THE APARTMENTS TWO YEARS OR LONGER AGO, OR THE AUTHORS REPRESENT MEDICARE AND/OR MEDICAID PROGRAMS. MEDICAL CARE PROVIDERS MANIPULATE THE FACTS, THEREBY CREATING A FOUNDATION OF PROTECTION FOR THOSE COMMITTING FRAUD. NOTE: AS OF NOVEMBER 1ST, 2023, THERE IS A COMPLAINT PETITION BEING CIRCULATED AT MARY BETHUNE APARTMENTS. PLEASE SIGN IT!!! THE COMPLAINT IS ALL TRUE. TAMPA HOUSING CAN NOT RETATIATE OR PUNISH ANYONE WHO SIGNS IT! SOME TENANTS FEAR THEY WILL BE EVICTED IF THEY SIGN THIS PETITION. IT IS A FELONY FOR ANY AGENCY TO RETALIATE AGAINST ANYONE WHO CHALLENGES CORRUPTION OR ILLEGAL PRACTICES. MARY BETHUNE APARTMENT PROPERTY IS A MESS! THE TENANTS AND GOVERNMENT WHO PAY THE RENT DESERVE TO RECEIVE WHAT THEY PAY FOR!!!
