AMWAT Moving Warehousing Storage

AMWAT is a very professional company. We are at the initial stages of our move. A representative from the company spent 2 hours with us explaining the process and cataloguing our items. We are downsizing and they gave us a list of buyers or companies that would take our things for the less fortunate. They have an excellent team and they treat them well. I have used AMWAT on two occasions. Both times was a very detailed oriented move with many moving parts. Daniel and his team did an excellent job. They were very delicate with our furniture and it didn't take them long. Additionally, this company has great values and compassion for their staff.

We hired AMWAT to load our moving truck. The people I spoke with on the phone during the scheduling process (Joshua and Joe) were friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the two actual movers made the experience more stressful than it needed to be. When they arrived, they told us that our truck wouldnt fit all of our possessions despite both the Penske representative and Joshua on the phone assuring us it would fit. But one of our movers told us he had 20 years of experience and was sure it wouldnt fit. This discussion wasted time (we were paying by the hour), and they had us fretting that wed have to make two trips (not fun when its seven hours each way). In the end, not only did everything fit, but there was plenty of room to spare. When asked why he thought it wouldnt fit, he just said perception. But at least he wasnt mean like the other mover. He portrayed himself as an amateur psychologist, analyzing and criticizing my family and our belongings. He later acted like it was a joke, but it was annoying and unnecessary. Moving is stressful enough without someone belittling you the whole time. It seemed really unprofessional. They got the job done and everything arrived at our destination intact. But during the experience I honestly wished Id hired someone else.

AMWAT has moved me 5 times in the past 6 years. Each time, everyone from the initial estimator to the administrative/coordinating staff to the on site movers have been wonderful. I like the style of their estimating. The give a worst case scenario, not an exact price. Every time they moved me, the final total was less than the estimate, sometimes significantly. The move day coordination was great as well. They confirmed arrival times and even moved things around for me when I had a last minute hiccup. I've used them for moving just heavy stuff a few times...then packing everything and moving me this last time. I damaged so many of my own smaller things by stuffing them into my SUV to move myself over the years. Then, I saw how professionals pack things. Never going back to 20 trips in my car with small stuff again. :) The on-site packing and moving crews are all very experienced. Once, they even shared with me how good the owners are to them, especially compared to other moving companies in town that they used to work for. I won't move anywhere in the world without AWMAT.
