Sea View Hotel

Lovely well appointed, luxury, historic hotel. Lovely pool and oceanfront pool deck and restaurant. Everyone very professional and courteous. Nearby activities: Bal Harbor Shoppes and so much more. Lovely beaches. Walkability: Close to everything.

It used to be a quiet an enjoyable hotel but they are breaking their own policies in the pool I was unable to have a quiet and enjoyable use of the pool due to plenty of kids and adults playing with water guns floaters and toys in the pool This is unfair when charging for services at the pool The other issue was with the restaurant It is hit or miss You may have a decent meal or a horrible meal The service is great that food is not

BEWARE Items were stolen from my room. I just spent a birthday weekend at Sea View. The first day there I locked my wallet and IPad in the safe and went to the beach. When returned I found that my pill box in my purse was gone. This was prescription pain as well as other medications. The purse was in the closet and therefore was not in an area to be cleaned. The manager was SKEPTICAL AND UNCONCERNED. He did send a Security officer to my room and I spoke in person with the maid and her supervisor. Of course they both denied any responsibility. Then UNBELIEVABLY when I returned home my DOLCE VITA sandals were missing. I did store my suitcase behind the desk for a few hours on my day of discharge. This hotel is old with mostly geriatric customers.. It does not have the fun luxurious vibe that is portrayed on their website. Safety: As a follow up to ITEMS STOLEN FROM ROOM: The managers nice explanation of the theft that I experienced does not negate the fact that my room was robbed and they have a thief among their cliental. At the very least they have a security problem and have not taken steps to address the issue.
