My visit to Dr Wolf's office to address my Trigeminal Neuralgia was very professional from the front desk to the patient care. I was able to get an appointment quickly and my time in the waiting room was minimal. They diagnosed my problem and said the best thing at this stage is medication to ease the pain. Even though Dr Wolf is a surgeon, I respect that he did not push surgery right away. I had a good experience and recommend this practice.

About
Miami Neuroscience Center
The Miami Neuroscience Center at Larkin is a state-of-the-art, full-service neurological surgery facility serving our community and patients from around the nation and the world since 1993. Through years of vast experience, our physicians and staff are uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat neurosurgical conditions. We believe one size does not fit all and as such, we strive to provide the most effective and least invasive procedures individually tailored to meet our patient’s needs and goals. This means personalized care and accessibility to the medical and staff team at all times. We have been pioneers in offering the newest procedures and technologies, such as awake craniotomies, a technique that allows the surgeon to safely resect as much of a tumor as possible, providing better outcomes. The patient is conscious during the procedure but does not feel pain because the brain does not have pain receptors and a local anesthetic is used to numb the scalp. When a tumor is near an area of the brain that controls highly essential functions — such as speech, language, or movement — an awake craniotomy is the best way to identify and safely preserve those abilities. Not all surgeons are qualified to perform this highly specialized procedure. We have also been instrumental in the use of Gamma Knife radiosurgery to treat multiple brain metastasis, which in the early 1990s was practically a death sentence. At that time, patients with more than a few brain lesions had few options, but today, treating numerous brain lesions is a standard of care. We are proud to have been part of this revolutionary advance that changed the course of radiosurgery. There is now hope for these patients, which can take comfort in the fact that we can control brain metastasis in most cases with this exclusively dedicated neurosurgical tool. Gamma Knife remains the gold standard “because of its extensive use and enormous amount of supportive dataâ€- Journal of Neurosurgery. The increased accuracy, minimal side effects, rapid recovery, and single session and non-invasive nature of the procedure continues to make Gamma Knife the treatment of choice for neurological conditions. Some conditions it can be used to treat include brain metastasis, most benign and malignant brain tumors, vascular malformations such as Arteriovenous Malformations (AVM), cavernomas, and hemangiomas. We offer a full range of brain and spine procedures, such as minimally invasive motion sparing procedures. This includes microdiscectomy, a procedure in which a small portion of a damaged disc is removed and microdecompression. These procedures are performed through a one-inch incision and relieve compression on the nerve roots or spinal cord, causing neuropathic pain. We are recognized for our extensive experience in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia using the full arsenal of treatments available for this debilitating and many times misunderstood and misdiagnosed condition. Also available are promising new therapies, both medical and surgical options for the treatment of pain conditions such as occipital neuralgia and migraines. We offer concierge services to international patients who travel from around the world to the Miami Neuroscience Center at Larkin. Our over 25-year relationships with international physicians, medical associations, and hospitals make the Miami Neuroscience Center the facility of choice for international patients seeking the best neurosurgical care in the region.Providing patient-centered care is a core pillar of our mission to treat the person, not just the condition. The Miami Neuroscience Center at Larkin is committed to a positive patient experience that adheres to the highest ethical standards.
