The Exchange Hotel

Great location and amazing service from the front desk staff and the valets!!! Bar never opened while we were there for our 3 night stay, so don't plan on that. Also, the patio around the pool was a disaster and pool was not well kept. You could hear everything that went on in the hallways too. Overall, it met our needs and I would stay there again. Nearby activities: Walking distance to the pier, numerous restaurants, and other entertainment.

Called hotel on Wednesday 4/3 to make sure my reservation was in place for 4/21 and was adding a night, bc I am a local resident and they are tenting my house for three nights. The front desk could not be more rudely staffed. The hotel had no record of my reservation, she/they couldn't help with any third party reservations, wasn't showing I even made a reservation...then she wouldn't LET me make a reservation bc I was bringing a small cat. The Pet Policy was emailed to me that they charge 25 for small animals, and she blatantly refused service any further after that. She was not accommodating in finding my reservation, not helpful and when I wanted to MAKE a reservation with her and was completely out of place in hotel customer service bc she didn't want my business. Do NOT waste your time. This front desk is A NIGHTMARE with their "it's your third party issues, not ours" trying to reserve a room. I was so upset I had to go hunting for another hotel at 11pm, we couldn't even finish the conversation bc she kept telling me No, we don't have your reservation, No we have no record of you and No we won't accept a cat, only dogs. "Sorry not sorry". Unacceptable. Rude. Will NEVER recommend this place to anyone visiting... Take your poop bags elsewhere! But make sure you call and confirm your reservation so you can get yelled at and denied. Honestly how are you in business with third parties at all then turn around and blame the guest? Not friendly, not helpful, not welcoming, not a customer service professional. NO THANKS or praise from local resident here, Exchange Hotel. Will never recommend that experience to anyone, imagine if I had just showed up, trusting I had a room reservation! Work out your policies on how to handle third party issues (YOURS) and keep your all of your pet guests; judging from other reviews it's not like your rooms are too pristine to accommodate that. The staff member on duty was the absolute worst, can't shake her rudeness and representation of the hotel. Glad to hear it's getting demolished! Noteworthy details: Rude front desk trying to confirm my reservation, not found. One Cat is not included as a quiet pet guest even though they advertise as pet friendly and had emailed me a 25 dollar pet policy, was still denied a room.

The staff first off was very nice and easy checkin and the place is definitely not your typical hotel so dont expect a Hilton or Marriott feel.we stayed for one night and what sold us on this place was the location,we walked right out to the pier and the restaurants.the rooms are older(smaller) and lacking some tlc and basic maintenance,paint and decor upgrade and the pool(we didnt use) but checked it out,it was in need of a good clean and the furniture was kinda thrown around but we didnt come for a pool type stay so we didnt care but I know if you have kids or want to relax by a pool it would matter.pass the vacuum through the hallways and that would be the last thing I would mention.nothing fancy but better then paying 400 a night at hotels in the same area.also no elevators fyi* Rooms: Smaller than average but seemed clean,smaller tv the people would prefer too and the bathroom is tiny. Nearby activities: The pier and food all all within. 2 min walk Safety: The area is good but being at Pete the homeless is always around. Walkability: 2 minutes from everything
