Refrigerator was not cooling at all. I called Emerald Coast and they sent out technician Todd promptly and he diagnosed the problem quickly as a bad control module. The next day Todd had the part and he replaced the bad module. Prevented a costly refrigerator replacement!! Well done. Five stars!! Ben

Donald Sailors did an outstanding job fixing my washing machine. It took him less than five minutes to spot the problem and less than 30 minutes to rectify and test the repair. I was extremely impressed. Sorry this post is late. Repair was done at the end of 2023.

In September, I contacted Emerald Coast Appliance for dishwasher repair. They charged a service fee ($125) to diagnose the issue and determined it was a diverter motor. The part arrived they came out and replaced the diverter motor, the cost to actually do the repair (approximately $375) was reduced by the original service fee ($125). All good so far... However, the replacement of the diverter motor did not fix the problem. They charged another $125 service fee to come out and troubleshoot the issue. Decided the problem was the diverter motor again and ordered a new part. They came out and replaced the diverter motor (the part was under warranty) and only charged me the $125 service fee for the diagnosis. So at this point I am in for $500 for the repair ($375 plus the additional service fee of $125). Again, as in the initial repair, the diverter motor did not correct the problem. While the technician was here, I showed him that my research was saying the issue could be caused by the vent fan motor and the suggested diagnostic to determine if the problem was the fan would be to disconnect the fan and see if the dishwasher operates correctly with the fan disconnected. The technician disconnected the fan, told me to use it normally for a week or so to see if the problem went away, told me to call them back after a week or so and let them know if the dishwasher functioned correctly with the fan disconnected, then he left. After running several full dishwashing cycles throughout the week, the original issue had not recurred while the fan motor was disconnected. Therefore the trouble shooting by disconnecting the fan seemed to prove the issue was the fan. When I called and told them, I was told the repair would cost an additional $288 ($115 for the part, the rest labor). This would bring the total repair for fixing the original issue of a $115 dollar fan part to nearly $788 (original misdiagnosis cost of $500 plus $288 for the fan repair, which was original real problem that had been misdiagnosed as a diverter motor issue). But still I was willing to call them and make the repair, until the person on the phone said he was the owner of Emerald Coast Appliance and that I was not telling the truth and that my repair started in January. Which after discussion he found the full history had started in September, but was still going to charge me the additional full amount of $288 for the repair, because this was a "new issue". He was very rude and I was finally forced to just hang up and find someone else to do the repair. I am really disappointed because I have used Emerald Coast Appliance for several various appliance repairs over the years (to include two different refrigerators, a washing machine, a dryer, and this same dishwasher previously for a different repair issue) and always had a positive experience. Meaning, the repairs were done quickly, effectively, and for a reasonable price. Now I will use a different repair company and recommend anyone looking for appliance repairs to choose a company other than Emerald Coast Appliance Repair.
