I recently purchased a home from Barbara Vance. She not only made the home buying process incredibly difficult, she failed to honor the legally agreed upon repairs mentioned in the addendum, she did her best to prevent sale of this home from the beginning.
The repairs she DID complete were done by incompetent laborers causing me to spend thousands of dollars extra as I needed to get multiple home inspections, and multiple electrical inspections.
During one inspection I was in the home and she was on the phone with my realtor. She was screaming at her so loudly I could hear her from the second floor screaming clearly "MAKE YOUR BUYERS BACK OUT! I DON'T WANT TO SELL TO THEM! MAKE THEM BACK OUT!". She sounded like someone experiencing a pretty severe psychological meltdown. This day her very amateur unprofessional electrician demanded to speak with my electrician who was inspecting the still incomplete work. He cursed my electrician who was inspecting the failed attempts at remedying the electrical issues which were listed in the legal addendum.
I hope she has found some semblance of peace, or a medication that works for her needs since then.
On the final walk-through we found damage that was not present previously. Dawn Briggs was representative of Barbara Vance during this and she promised to mend these damaged items. Once again, she failed to honor their word. It seems to be a pattern at the Barbara Vance Group.
Barbara turned the water off before the final walk-through, preventing us from ensuring she had resolved the plumbing issues she promised to fix in the addendum.
To this day the repairs are not complete.
Upon moving in we found that garbage had been left here. The dishwasher was clogged with candy wrappers and the soap tray crusted shut. Once we pried it open we found an infestation of German Cockroaches. That's another $190 for a safe, liveable home.
Dealing with Barbara Vance in any aspect is about as miserable as any home buying experience can get. In the future I'd rather pry my own eyes out with a melon baller than ever deal with her or her cohorts again.
Her bizarre behavior was not only unethical, showing of a complete lack of regard for the standards set forth by the Florida Realtors Association, but also teeters on the borderline of illegal.
If you are considering any business dealings, for your sanity, safety, and the consideration of your loved ones who may be impacted, I'd recommend steering far clear of Barbara Vance.
