Avis Car Rental

We waited over 2 hours to pick up because Avis ran out of cars! What is the point of a reservation? We finally upgraded to a car we didnt need or want just so we could get out of there before midnight. Not a great experience.

Be aware check your paperwork before leaving the desk no matter how long your flight was. I was charged 480 in extras for every optional insurance without any opportunity to agree or decline. Was scammed by the desk agent no doubt on a huge commission for exploitation of tired passengers in huge queues. Also had to drag 11 people and all cases on and off a bus to another terminal miles away to collect a damaged van in the dark. Don't book with Avis !

We had a great experience, i thought it would maybe be difficult being it wasn't in my normal city or state, but it wasn't just as if i was at home, the vehicle was very clean and great on gas..

We reserved a car two months in advance. When we arrived at night after 14 hours of travel there was no car available. We were not the only frustrated customers. After two hours of waiting with two small children sleeping on the terminal floor a car became available. After leaving we realised that one of the tires was badly worn down to the thread and was punctured. We spend half a vacation day returning the car to get a replacement. The staff was incredibly unfriendly and did not offer any compensation for the massive inconvenience and loss of vacation time - not even an apology. We also noticed (to late unfortunately) a tag on the car key informing that the tire was punctured. Avis therefore already knew that the car was not fit for use but rented it out anyway. I have been using Avis for many years at other locations, but never experienced something similar to the experiences with Avis Orlando Airport. I will find another vendor next time.
