Ron's Custom Golf Carts

Sorry for the lengthy review but if you want to know how you will be treated at Rons Custom Golf Carts this may be worth reading. What started out as what I thought was going to be a great experience and a great place to deal with turned into a real nightmare, and now I am stuck with a golf cart I cannot use. I recently purchased a 2021 Club Car Tempo Gas Golf Cart from Rons Custom Golf Carts on Feb. 3 Saturday afternoon to take to the Villages. I spoke with Ron the owner/salesman and told him exactly what my plans were a few times and were I was taking it to use it. He had 1 gas cart on lot and it looked beautiful, lifted, big tires, custom paint. We agreed on price so at this point he sold me the cart. I paid the man and was on my way. Now I come to find out later that evening that I will not be able to use this cart in the Villages like everyone else. This cart will not fit through the tunnels & the tires cannot be used on the golf course. Well, was I surprised my stupidity I should have researched this before, but I’m new to the Villages and I was relying on Ronnys advice that it would be great for the Villages as he informed me, after all he should know all about the villages being the business, he is in. On Sunday morning I texted Ronny and let him know I had a problem about the height of the golf cart, but I didn’t want to bother him on a Sunday that I would talk to him Monday morning. Within 5 minutes he texted me back a pic of a forum that in the villages there are other ways to get there other than the tunnels and it would be a longer ride. I immediately texted him back letting him know that the longer way is about another 4 miles and not to mention the fact you would have to cross street traffic, my wife would also be driving the cart putting her at risk. So, I was not interested in that. I let him know that I would just come talk to him Monday morning. Well Monday morning comes, I was there first thing. Ron then tells me he didn’t know this about the villages, and I was very surprised that he told me this would be great for the villages on Sat. Feb.3 and now 2 days later he is telling me something different? He also says he could change the tires, change the roof to a flatter style leaving me about maybe 2 inches clearance for the tunnels. This would still not be enough clearance to safely maneuver through the tunnels due to the fact it is a lifted cart and it just would not work for the wife and myself. I asked if I could just get my money back with a restocking fee. Again, I do take part of this blame for not researching this and just relying on Ron the (Salesman). He told me no there was nothing else he could do. I felt disappointment despite early his assurance of assistance on Sat. and now we would be on our own. Please note I bought this cart Sat. afternoon and within 12 hours he was notified of the problem; we have never used the cart. So now it’s for you to decide what type of person you’re dealing with at Rons Custom Golf Carts. I would be very careful to do any business with a person that cannot make this right for that amount of money I spent. I think this man should have made things right, but you decide. It’s disheartening that a business that prides itself on selling golf carts failed to provide adequate guidance or education on what would be suitable for our needs. Instead, we were left feeling misled and ignored. While Rone may post pictures of happy customers on Facebook, our experience left us with more worry and frowns than smiles. Two other friends have bought golf carts and very please with Ron so we just bought our first cart from Ron

Love the new cart! Ron was great! He was helpful and service after the sale has been great. A pleasure to deal with.
