Let me start out by saying and commenting on unit G22 2255 Avocado Avenue Melbourne, Florida. September 2022 we were notified of major flooding in our unit. We responded immediately and found tremendous damage to the furniture and other items in the unit. We were devastated as some of the furniture had tremendous sentimental value along with the overall cost value. Thank goodness the resident (Ian) on site helped us clean up the mess. Basically all RecNation had to offer at the time was contact your insurance company. Shortly thereafter there was news coverage about the flooding and that RecNation knew about the issues in June and they were due to drainage blocking by Brightline railway construction. To this date we are still confused why RecNation failed to notify us of the potential flooding since RecNation was aware of the issues and potential flooding two months prior to the major flood.
Now I would like to pay accolades to Karen K at RecNation. Upon making contact with her she was very understanding about out situation and continued to work with us for financial assistance and locating a place to move. Ultimately we moved some of the items to another Non RecNation facility. By Karen K staying in touch with us and through us contacting her she was able to let us know there was a vacant unit at another RecNation property. We jumped at the opportunity since the unit was large enough to facilitate all the items we needed to store. The challenge we had was the large expense to rent the unit, the costs we just paid to move some of our property and the cost of the overall loss. Karen K took out concerns to management and helped facilitate the rent cost a little at both facilities. I cant thank Karen K enough for her help. She always took my calls either immediately or called back. I also want to thank RecNation Management for their assistance financially. We are still out a lot financially but it helps. Thanks again Karen.
